Keith's POV
'Tubby isn't the only one who watches too much crime tv shows.'
I walk into the diner and Smit is laid up a corner booth facing the door "reading" a newspaper.
'Really? I'm surrounded by imbeciles.'
I slide into the booth across from Smit. I can already tell he's got some good information. His leg is twitching under the table making it rock back and forth.
"Goddamit man. Calm down!"
"You really stepped into it this time. I think you should leave Judith alone. Cut your losses. Find a new chick to terrorize. Spawn a new offspring."
"No. She's mine; they're mine. What about this millionaire has scared you?"
"How about the fact that she is actually a billionaire? Or the fact that she is well connected in local, state, federal and international governments? No, I think its because she has a IQ of 211."
"So, you're afraid of a smart girl. Anything else?"
"You'd be afraid if you were smart. I'm going to look more into her money situation in case she tries to run with Judith."
"Do that. I'm going to try and get a warrant. Try to be inconspicuous. If she's as connected as you say, she's definitely a flight risk."
Smit slides out the booth.
"You're fucked." Smit calls over his shoulder. The smarmy bastard always gets the last word.
Judith's POV
"How do I get out of here, Jess?"
'I've got to leave. When will Keith just leave me alone? Now, I've put Jess in bad spot.'
I start pacing and muttering. I go to the bed and wake Dame. My poor baby gets up all disoriented. He's not even awake so I'll probably have to carry/drag him. I'm not in the best shape. My ankle is better but I can't run.
"Chill, love. He's gone and by the time he gets a warrant, we'll be far far away."
"Where?" Jess's arms encircle my waist from behind. She leans forward kisses my cheek.
"La Isla Bonita, of course."
