Overview

Neito "Hyoudou" Shumitto is the main protagonist of the Highschool DxD story AU: Bare This Curse. He, originally, was a young boy trapped within a loop of life-and-death cycles, his lives often ending with Rias' betrayal. Along the course of this process, Neito was left broken after hitting the mid 3000 point of his lives. He had become broken, and only fought out of routine. Later, when the first cycle was broken, he was introduced to the Goddess of Time: Kruonis, who bestowed upon him the ability to manipulate time itself. Upon awakening, he finds himself in the second loop, where he is now the younger sibling of Issei Hyoudou, and attends Kuoh Academy as a shadowing adolescent. But that isn't to say Neito is powerless now. With every run he's participated in, Neito has grown stronger; learning, mastering, and skillfully wielding a plethora of Magic Circles. It isn't until he meets Ophis does he discover the true power within him, and his calling as a Godling of Time. From then on, he has continued to move the world forward, depleting the amount of reruns he's had to endure up until Run 4001. It is only when he takes initiative and changes the events of the story for his benefit do the true enemies reveal themselves, allowing him to save the real Rias Gremory from Kokabeil and Doppelys in one situation and be forced to trigger the Armageddon Emperor in another, casting him into a coma that sent his soul into the realm of Cross Reverie in the sequel: BTC: Nephilim of Judgement.

Abilities

While it is unknown what Neito's true limit is, one thing everyone in the world of Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels can agree upon is that he is not to be taken lightly if he's going serious. Over the runs, he's attained a stored power that can rival God himself, and in the mid 1000 point, even dwarfed his. Neito's main power resides in his Magic Circles, once being in the imagined Earth's Gear conjured up by the assistance of his Nephilim Gear's spirit: Tetra. Any and all magic can be made and used by Neito, no matter the element. He can learn it all and make his enemies beg before he ultimately eviscerates them mercilessly. Within the later chapters, Neito's abilities are often put to the test, especially when he faces Doppelys and Kokabeil, who can easily rival him in his most basic form. From his trademark Indigo Circles to the Time Break and Speed Break abilities of the Cursed Time Sacred Gear given by the fake Kruonis, Neito is a being that rivals gods, and often times surpasses them. The only ones he has yet to overcome is his own Dragon: Ophis, and Great Red.

CORE Personality

Once being a vibrant and excitable young man, after the reruns took their toll on his mind, Neito's previously-existing personality died with his first dozen lives, leaving only a smile to cover up the pain. In his current state, he cannot be classified as a hero, or an anti-hero. He's neutral, only fighting to ensure he lives and so does the ones he wants to have futures. As long as they live, the rest of the society and community can be damned to the abyss of oblivion. However, despite his core intentions, he isn't above the normal emotions for entities, especially males, such as himself. He is romantically involved with Akeno Himejima, and finds the real Rias Gremory to be like an older sister he has to look after just as he did with Issei. Xenovia is his best friend from childhood, both of which trusting each other with their lives.

Appearance

Neito Shumitto adorns the attire of an indigo jacket over a dark grey t-shirt with dark jeans and steel-toed boots layering his legs and feet. His eyes are a heterochronic silver (left) and blue (right), being the only evidence of his divide in power. His hair is a pitch black and his Nephilim wings are heterochronically blue (Devil) and silver (Angel).
