When Percy died, Annabeth begged Poseidon to bring him back to life. Poseidon granted Annabeth's wish. Well, sort of. Poseidon remembered how Zeus turned Thalia into a tree, amd he remembered the nickname Annabeth had given Percy. He decided to turn Percy into seaweed.
