I awoke to the chirping of birds outside my window, and the warmth of the morning sun on my face. I stared up at my ceiling thinking about nothing but one person.
Julian. I even dreamt about him again...
I keep thinking about his texts from last night. I was really looking forward to our lunch today. And I'm really hoping he wasn't too hurt by finding out the truth about Anna. Was there still hope for our friendship? Will it change the way we are? All these thoughts rushed through my head whilst I stared at my phone, staring at the conversation.
I decided that I needed to get up off my bed and start getting ready for school. I wanted to impress Jules, I wanted to dress up and feel nice today. Even though we weren't having our lunch we still had musical history class together and I really wanted to impress him. Maybe he broke up with Anna and I'll ask him to the dance. I put on a polka dotted circle skirt and a white button up blouse. I straightened my hair and put on my favorite red beret. I applied my favorite red lipstick. I took one last look in the mirror and posed in front of it.
"Oh, hi Jules. How are you? Oh this old outfit? Why thank you, you look gorgeous there yourself too stud." I said winking at myself in the mirror. Stud? Jesus I'm pathetic. I need to get out of here.
I walked downstairs to meet my sister at the table.
"My, you look nice today Lucille!" My mom said as she turned over the bacon she was cooking on the stove. I smiled at her and went to our kitchen cabinet to grab a granola bar.
"Yeah, what's the occasion, stud?" Danny asked, grinning from ear to ear as she took a bite out of her toast. She must have heard me when I was talking to my mirror.
"No occasion... Can't I just look nice?" I snapped back at Danny. "Hey mom, we gotta go or else we'll be late for school." I said grabbing my backpack as I motioned to Danny out the door.
"Well wait a minute! I made too much bacon; here girls just eat some on the walk there, yeah?" My mom asked us as she handed us some on napkins and gave us a bottle of orange juice. I shook my head at her.
"Mom, I'm a vegetarian remember?" I said as I took the orange juice.
"I'm sorry honey. Be safe girls! I love you!" She houted as Danny and I headed out.
"Love you too!" We said in unison.
"So, who did you get dressed up for? Julian? Or Fabrizio?" Danny asked. She was setting up a song for us to listen to on our iPod.
FUCK. In all the craziness about Anna and Jules, I completely forgot about Fab. "Um... Listen, I'm unsure about asking Fab to the dance. Honestly Dan... I can't get my mind off Jules."
Danny handed me a headphone. Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' played.
"Honestly sis, whatever you feel is right, that's what you should do. Just... think about it. Really think about it." Danny said with a sigh.
I smiled at her.
I went to my locker to pick up a couple of my books for music history class. As I approached it, I spotted Fab talking to Nick next to his locker.
"Dude, this is gonna be a trip! Battle of the bands is gonna be fucking groovy." Nick said.
"Mornin' guys. Do you guys have a bass player for your guys' band yet?" I harped in.
"Um, no not yet booger face. Why? You a secret badass bass player?" Nick said snickering.
Fab looked over at me and smiled.
