So I completely changed the story around and this is all new. No one is reading this yet so I'm not too worried about the changes, but for those who read it after 7/11/19 then enjoy the new and improved version.

(Anna's POV)

Friday in April 2019 3:00pm

Anna- 28 Robert- 30 Alaric- 19

"Do you know who you're talking to?" He asked through gritted teeth. I couldn't help the smirk on my face, his anger fueling my own. I was tired of his bullshit, and if he thought I was intimidated by him then he thought wrong. He seemed to forget who he was talking to. I wasn't some young pup he could order around.

"I could ask you the same thing. Don't you dare use that tone with me, I am not someone whose going to just bow at your feet, Alpha." I said in a condescending tone. His only response was a growl as he squared his shoulders, preparing for a fight.

"You do not want to test me right now Mother. I am not in the mood to deal with your attitude." He took a couple steps toward me, trying to intimidate me. I could not help the laugh that came out of my mouth. "What the hell is so funny?" He asked, his face getting redder by the second.

"We both know I'm not just your mother, I'm more than that, even if you decided to wait years to tell me." I said as I smirked at him. That seemed to take the wind out of his sails as he suddenly looked at me with confusion, I had thrown him off his game which was good. I took a couple steps closer to him. "Didn't you want to tell me, aren't I good enough for you?." I asked, poking my finger into his chest. I could see his Adam's apple move as he swallowed, looking down at me. "I won't be your dirty little secret. You should have told me when you first found out."

"I....." He began before he was cut off.

"Can I ask what's going on here?" Robert said, his body halfway through the door as he took in the scene before him. "Is everything OK between you two?" He asked as he walked fully into the room.

"Everything's OK." I replied as I stepped away from my 'son'. "You're home early dear, is everything OK?" I asked as he took off his jacket and shoes.

"Yeah, just an early day off, big bosses are cutting down on overtime and since I have so much they told me I had to go home." He walked to the living room, turning on the tv as he sat down in his chair.

"Oh, ok." I replied, still surprised to see him here so early. "I guess I'll go get dinner started a little early for us then." I said, leaving the living room to go to the kitchen. I heard Alaric follow softly behind me. I knew he still wanted to talk, but I was done with our argument at the moment and just wanted a second to breath. "Alaric, honey, can you go to the store quick and grab me a box of lasagna noodles, I did not have a chance to go earlier." I asked quickly, coming up with the first thing I could think of to get him out of the house.

"I thought we were have steaks for dinner?" My husband asked, sounding upset. "I was really looking forward to it since I got off early." He said, not taking his eyes off the TV. I frowned as I stopped at the doorway.

"I guess we'll still have those then, just thought I'd mix it up today, but you know I can't say no to you." I said, mentally cursing my husband. I could almost hear the smirk on Alaric's face as he spoke.

"Why don't I help you with those, two sets of hands is always better than one."

"Sure I guess I could use the extra hand." I said through gritted teeth wanting just the opposite, but I couldn't say that. I wanted more than anything to turn around and punch the smirk off his face but I knew I couldn't. "Make sure you go wash your hands first and I'll get everything ready." I said, hoping to give myself a little more time.
