Another update and this is a good one. I'm slowly falling in love with these characters, and it's taken a bit of tweaking to get them just right, but I love their story and can't wait for more. This is another flash back from Alaric's point of view. I like delving into his mind, its interesting trying to write from a male perspective.
(Still in Alaric's POV)
Saturday in August 2016 6:30am
Anna- 28 Alaric- 16th Birthday Jason- 15
Dude I need your help, like now. I said to Jason through the mind link.
What's wrong, is there a rogue attack, is your mom OK? I'm on my way. He said quickly, and I could tell he was already running towards my house. I was locked in my room, my mother knocking on the door.
"Honey what's wrong? It's your 16th birthday, you should be out celebrating. Or at least come down and finish breakfast with your dad and I." She said through the door.
"I can't right now, Jason is on his way, when he gets here can you send him up right away?" I begged, forcing myself to stay at the opposite side of the room as the door.
"Sure honey, as long as you're sure you're OK."
"I'm fine mom, please just go." I begged, needed her as far away from me as possible.
"OK." I could hear the disappointment in her voice and it took everything in me not to open the door and take her into my arms. I heard her walk downstairs and 5 minutes later I heard Jason running up. I quickly opened my door for him before closing and locking it again.
"What the hell man, I thought you were dying, what's wrong?" Jason asked when he realized I was OK.
"She's my mate." I told him. He looked confused for a few seconds before it seemed to dawn on him.
"Anna?" He asked, "She's your mate?" I could tell he was getting excited.
"Don't say that so loud, she can't know, not yet." I said to him. " I walked downstairs this morning and it just hit me like a freight train, and then I saw her kiss Robert and I almost lost it, how am I going to survive this?" I asked desperately as I sat on my bed and put my head in my hands. "She's not going to leave him, no matter how much of a dick he is." I said as I started to cry. Just thinking about all this was upsetting my wolf and I and I wasn't sure what to do.
"Why don't you tell her you need to start your Alpha training early and leave the house for a while, give your wolf time to calm down and for you to convince him he has to wait. Maybe if your lucky Anna will feel some of the bond and by the time you get back and can tell her she'll want to be with you." He said, coming over and putting his hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him and gave a small smile.
"I guess that's what I'll have to do, because at this point I think Zander might kill Robert if he kisses her one more time." I told him truthfully.
"Let's get you out of here, I'll go down and talk to Anna, I think Robert left so we should be good, but you don't have to see her if you don't want to." He told me.
"I can't." I said, crying even more because Zander and I both wanted our mate and I knew we couldn't have her. As he left my room to talk to Anna I started packing some clothes. I couldn't help but listen in to their conversation, worried about how Anna would react.
"Is he OK?" I heard her ask Jason.
"He will be." He replied, "But I have some bad news. He has to leave early for his training. Now that he's 16 and seems to be stronger than anticipated the elders called and want him to come immediately to start his training."
