ella's pov
is it weird that i'm still wearing corbyn's sweatshirt? probably. do i care? no. it's insanely comfortable. how does this man do it?!
"ella! come downstairs!" i heard my mom yell at me from downstairs.
"coming!" i yelled as i got up from my bed. "what do you need?" i asked when i reached the bottom the the stairs.
"i was wondering if you wanted, hey where did you get the sweatshirt? i've never seen it before." my mom told me.
"oh this? um it's my friends." i said.
"oh well shouldn't you give it back to her?" she asked.
"no he said i could keep it..." i said rubbing the back of my neck.
"oh? your only friend is a guy. ok." she said.
"is there something wrong with that?" i asked. she shook her head.
"no, i just thought you'd befriend a girl." she said almost sounding disappointed. "i just don't want you getting hurt from him."
"hurt? how would i be hurt?" i asked leaning against the wall.
"boys, tend to, you know, hurt your feelings.." she said rubbing her hands on her thighs.
"mom, corbyn is not like that. he is the sweetest person i've ever met." i told her. she looked at me and sighed.
"that what you always say ella, i don't know if i believe you anymore." my mom said. i bit my lip and sighed.
"i'll prove it to you. i'll prove he's different than other boys." i said crossing my arms.
"i don't know how you'll do that but you can try." my mom said. when she finished i turned and ran back up the stairs. once i was in my room, i started thinking.
"how can i prove corbyn's different?" i asked myself pacing across my room. perfect, he can come over!
