Grace's POV

Dear diary,
Today is May 10, 1994, again. Today the sun rose at 5:42 a.m as it should be, entering the summer solstice. I've been waking up early to see the sun rise. And to be honest, it's one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life. I've been in California for about a month now, and it's pretty hot here. At least when I look out the window there's an ocean. Although the worst part about being here is that the day keeps repeating itself, and that there is an eclipse at 12:28 pm. Every. Freaking. Day. I don't know why it keeps happening, and I'm starting to think that I've entered a parallel universe or an alternate dimension where I'm the only one here.

It's really lonely here and I don't know what to do, I don't even know why I'm here. Sometimes I feel like I'm not the only one here. It's like someone's watching my every move. Like this one time I kept waking up from bad dreams. It starts out normal but then it gets creepier. I walk into a house, and the walls are covered in blood. I go through the backyard to the woods like something or someone is calling me to go there. I see two people holding hands, and I hear chanting. It must be a ritual or a seance, or something. And that's all I remember because that is where I would wake up to a burning sensation on my wrist. And it kept happening for a month straight when I first got here.

Of course that's just my mind trying to get the best of me. Or I'm finally going crazy. I cry everyday knowing that I can't go back home to Stefan and Damon. I've been thinking about turning of my humanity so I wouldn't be so sad all the time.

Right now I'm at a hospital looking for blood bags, because there aren't any humans here. Obviously. As I grab a blood bag I hear something fall. I put the blood bag back, and sped over there. Once I get there I see a bedpan spinning on the floor.

"Once again, my mind is playing tricks on me." I mumble to myself. I ignore it and go back to my blood bag I have waiting for me. As I walk back someone snaps my neck.

My vision starts to become clear as I wake up. I look around and realize that I'm at the house I'm staying at, but I'm in the garage. I try to move my arms but they're tied to the metal shelf with vervain ropes, except for my legs. I groan in pain as I feel the vervain burn me. I don't even bother getting up because I am too weak. I then realize that my mouth is duct-taped meaning I can't talk, and I start to feel sweat on my forehead. Just as I try to move my arms the door opens and this guy walks in, he's kind of cute. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and he seems about 6 feet tall. He looks at me dead in the eye, and my breathing gets heavier.

"Look who's finally awake!" He says as he sits on the floor in front of me.

Who does this guy think he is? A comedian? I assuming he's the one who snapped my neck. He basically kidnapped me!

"My names Kai, and I'm here to ask a bunch of questions. I hope you don't mind but I read your diary." My eyes widen as I hear those words. He can't read my diary that is private information.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about your little secrets." He snickers. He comes closer to me moving my hair away from my face. Then rips of the duct-tape from my mouth.

"Ow." I say sternly.

"From what I've gathered your name is Grace Salvatore, you're a vampire, and you're 16. And I happen to like you already." He winks at me. I roll my eyes in disgust.

"So first question, how did you get here, Gracie? Oh, by the way can I call you Gracie, I think it's a cute little nickname for you since we're going to be friends." He smiles. I let out a little chuckle at the thought of him and I being friends.

"I'm sorry I don't mean to laugh, but you and I are never going to be friends." I smile as I let another chuckle come out. He tilts his head to the side.

"You know you shouldn't talk to me like that cause I could hurt you." He says.
"Aww, did I hurt your feelings." I pout as I let out a delighted sigh. He looks at me with a clenched jaw. He goes to the table and grabs something.

"I've done my research on vampires, and one of the things that can kill you is vervain." He says. My eyes widen as I figure out what he is about to do.

"Of course I don't have vervain, I used it al on the ropes, that herb is too hard to find. But... I do have a wooden stake, and I do know that can kill you." He says as he walks towards me with the stake in his hand. He comes down bringing his hand to my cheek bringing it down to my chin.

"It would be a ashamed to kill a pretty girl like you." He whisper's in my ear as he drives the stake in my stomach, and twists it. I scream in pain as he continues to drive it deeper in me.

"Good thing I'm not going to do that because I need answers." He whispers in my ear sending chills down my spine. He takes it out and throws it to the other side of the garage. I breathe heavily as I groan in pain.

"I'm going to ask this one more time, and you better answer me. How did you get here?" He asks as he sits across from me.

"I really don't know how I got here. The last thing I remember was that I was in the other side- "

"Pause, what's the other side?" He interrupts me, and I sigh and begin to talk again.

"When a supernatural creature dies, and can't find peace they go to the other side." I explain.

"Can I continue my story?" I ask.

"How did you die?" He says interested about this topic.

"My heart was ripped out." I say.

"Whoever killed you must've hated you." He chuckles.

"It doesn't matter because she's dead. And I didn't see her in the other side so I'm assuming she burning in hell where she belongs." I say as memories start to come up.

"How do you know she died?" Kai asks.

"When you're in the other side your basically a ghost. I saw it go down. Bitch deserves it." I say.

"You have some attitude, it's too bad we can't be friends. We would get along well." He smirks. I'm starting to sense that he's a psychopath. And I start to wonder how long has he been here.

"How long have you been here, Kai?" I ask and he laughs.

"Why do you wanna know?" He smiles.

"Because you seem like a psychopath. And by the looks of it you've been here for a long time. And being alone for a long time can do things to you." I say.

"I'm not going to tell you. And I prefer the term sociopath." He says seriously.

"Someone has trust issues." I snicker. He comes closer to me and grabs my wrists hard I see a red glow come from my wrists and is starts to hurt bad.

"Ahh, Kai stop you're hurting me!" I groan in pain. And the pain increases.

"Kai, stop!" I start to scream as the pain becomes worse. And he decides to stop. He grabs my face and looks into my eyes.

"Forget you met me, forget about all of this. Go back to Mystic Falls you're clearly homesick."

And with that he unties my arms from the shelves and snaps my neck.
