Authors Note: I can't believe there are actual people reading my story!! Thank you!! Onto Chapter 3!

Sophie gasped as she read down her list. "Well??" Biana pushed. "It--It's..." Sophie couldn't speak. Biana grabbed the scroll from out of her hands. Sophie saw her eyes widen as she read it. "I'm so sorry, Sophie!!" she said, handing the scroll back to Sophie. "Hold up." Keefe said. "Why would anyone be sad about me being their number one?" Keefe grabbed the scroll from Sophie. His face fell, and he was silent as he passed it around the circle. Sophie felt the tears well in her eyes as she dropped the scroll on the floor. They rolled down her cheek as she read the words again. SOPHIE ELIZABETH FOSTER-RUEWEN IS UNMATCHABLE. Biana hugged her, and Linh joined her. Soon, everyone but Tam was hugging Sophie. "Come on, Bangs Boy! Get in here!" Keefe called, but Tam shook his head. "Not a hugger."

"I have to go talk to them. They can't get away with this!" Sophie said, and rose from her seat. "We're coming with you." Fitz said. "Thanks guys, but I have to do it myself." Sophie told them, and headed to the Leapmaster. They followed her, but didn't protest. In the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Sophie stomped into the Matchmakers' office, glancing around. The receptionist looked up and smiled. "Ah, Sophie. I knew we'd be seeing you again soon." she said, pointing to a group of elves waiting by the stairs. One was Peritum, who had a sympathetic look. The other two Sophie did not recognize. "We are truly sorry, Sophie. We hope you can give as a chance to explain." A dark haired female said, her ears shaped into a very slight point. "You'd better." Sophie growled. The dark haired elf nodded again and opened a door. "I'm Tenebris, and this is Lux, my sister." she pointed to a short, blond elf. "I just want the names on my list." Sophie told them, anger rising in her stomach. She tried to tie up the emotions so she didn't inflict on them. "We are sorry, but...it wasn't our fault. Somehow, the computer wouldn't give us any matches." Lux explained. Sophie sighed. "Can't you make your own list?"

"Not without the help of our computers." Tenebris admitted.

"But..." Peritum looked thoughtful.

"But what??" Sophie asked.

"Maybe we could get the Council to specifically make a list of matches they approve of for her. We can personally do a DNA test." Peritum said.

"That's a great idea! I'll call them right now." Tenebris rushed to grab an Imparter.

An hour later, it was settled. The Council would put together a list of approved matches and the Matchmakers would DNA-check it themselves. "See you tomorrow, Sophie!!" Lux called as Sophie left the Matchmakers' office. Sophie grimaced and went home.

The next day, Sophie went over there again. They handed her a scroll, smiling. "Good luck, Sophie!!" Peritum said. Sophie went home.

She held her breath as she opened her scroll, Grady and Edaline watching over her shoulder. She gasped as she saw the number one.
