LOVE AND LIES-Chapter 7

"Sophie, no!" Everyone shouted at once.

"Oh, yes. Let's go, Sophie. Any last words?" Gethen said as he dragged Sophie towards a beam of light, created by a crystal held up by Vespera.

"Sophie, please, no! Why are you doing this?" Biana yelled.

Sophie turned away. "Because none of you want me here anyway." And with that, she walked into the light with the Neverseen. She could here faint screams behind her, but she didn't care.

"Those brats have finally realized they don't want you?" Alvar asked as they walked up to a looming fortress. Sophie could only nod. "Nobody likes me anymore." She thought they'd let her live without sedatives. But she was wrong. She let one tear drip down her face as the sweet-scented cloth covered her mouth and nose, whisking her away to nothingness.

(Fitz POV)

He couldn't think straight. What mess had they created? Why would she think they didn't want her anymore?

"It's all my fault!" Biana wailed as she put her heads in her hands. Keefe moved down beside her. Fitz could barely make out, "Hey, don't cry. It's kinda my fault, too."

"How?" Biana asked, looking up at him. Fitz knew that Biana liked Keefe. But Keefe.... he liked Sophie. He started listening again when Keefe straightened.

"I came up with the Let's make everyone hate her plan, remember?"

"True." Biana sniffled through her hands.

"Technically, it's all of our faults. We ALL ignored her." Fitz spoke up. He couldn't let guilt break anyone. Especially since Sophie wasn't around to heal them.

"True again." Biana said, wiping her tears away.

"We should probably go tell everyone."Fitz said, and helped the still shocked Sandor to his feet. He led the group toward the house, dragging his feet. What were they gonna tell Grady and Edaline? Turns out, nobody had to, because they had come out looking her her and the last second and watch her be taken away. No one said anything. Edaline, Biana, and Linh broke into tears. Fitz even saw tears welling in Grady's, Dex's, and Keefe's eyes. Tam looked downcast, and Fitz couldn't see his eyes.

What have we done?
