Balthazar's POV

After hearing the news from Halle, we quickly carried it to the others.

"I was beginning to think that you wouldn't show." Antonius said in a relieved tone.

"I'm a part of the team now. Like it or not. And I -- we come bearing gifts."

"Jennifer was indeed drinking whiskey, turns out Balthazar was telling the truth. And we found out that she was drinking at her favourite bar, "Dante's Liquors & Cocktails"." Halle said.

"I love that place!" Ashton said happily.

"Do you think the killer will be there?" Antonius asked.

"No, not really." Halle said frustratedly.

"But it's the only lead we've got." I said.

"Alright, then. Let's go!" Sasha said.

"Wu, where are you going?" Ashton asked.

"I'm coming with you guys, dullard." Halle said sardonically.

"Halle, we..."

"We need her, Ashton." I said.

"I am not talking to you, Balthazar." Ashton said angrily

"Detective Cane! If Halle wants to go then she goes." Antionus said firmly.

"I'm sorry, Halle. Of course you can come."

"Thank you, Ash."

She walked around him.

"You have nothing to worry about, Ash." I reassured him.

"I know, because if anything goes wrong, Balthazar, I will win."

He walked and hit into my right shoulder. I whispered, "By your hands, it probably won't be that difficult."

[5 minutes later]

After one fascinatingly speechless ride, we finally reached our destination, "Dante's Liquors & Cocktails." Sasha, Lieutenant Samuelson drove in her car while Ashton, Halle and I drove in his.

We put off to a stop, and we all came out of our cars. I made a serious decision to go in, solo, but they were tenacious.

"This is my fight, guys. Those two girls are dead because of me." I pointed out.
"But you don't have to do this alone anymore." Sasha said warmly.
"Sasha is right, we've got your back, Balthazar," Antonius said.
"Okay." I said, accepting my defeat a bit.

We entered the building and we found the owner, Dante Thompson.

Sasha and I walked forward to talk to him, while the others sat in their chairs.

"Dante Thompson." I said, walking towards him.

"Balthazar Michaels. Man, it's good to see you! Would you like one of your favourites?" Dante said nicely.

"No, I'm-- we're here on official business."

"Yeah, clearly."

"My name is Detective Sasha Williams, I'm here to ask you some questions."

"Sure, Detective."

"This woman was here last night, taking a drink at this very bar. Were you aware of that?"

"Yes, I was. Can you blame her though?" Dante said rhetorically.
"Her friend died."
"We're not here to point fingers at you!"
"That's kinda what you're doing."
"Dante! Just answer her questions. That's all I'm saying!"
"Balthazar, I can't answer any more."
"Why?'
"Because I wasn't here last night, I was with my girlfriend."
"Then that would mean..." Sasha said uncertainly.
"Jonathan."

After I said Jonathan, he was already entered the bar room, only to see Sasha and I questioning his twin brother. I turned my eyes to him, and slowly his eyes began to fill with terror and his feet started moving.

"There he is!" I said loudly.

Sasha turned and ran after the figure that shadowed on the wall when he ran.

I took the short way round, I teleported to the backdoor and hid myself. A few seconds later, he approached the door and I spared him and pressured him on the ground.

"Jonathan, why did you run?" I asked curiously.
"Because you think I killed her, Jennifer. But I didn't." He explained.
"Though, running does not prove your innocence, it does the opposite."
"You caught him."
"Yeah, I did. Now, come on. C'mom on!"

[10 minutes later]

After we returned to the precinct, they began to question him, the first chance they get.

"Where were you?" Sasha asked him sternly.
"At the bar." John said.
"Where did you go after?" Ashton added a bit more pressure to his questions, hoping he'll break.
"Home."
"Why are you lying to us?"
"I'm telling you the truth!"
"Okay, what time did you get home?"
"10:30."
"That's strange because the time of her death was placed between 9:00- 10:00. I think that would give you enough time to clean up. Your hands, your jacket."
"My what?"
"Your jacket. Black with blue lining."
"I don't have a jacket."

I looked at them and then I looked back at him.

"Well, according to the video we found, it says otherwise."

They fast-forwarded it a bit, "This is Jennifer... and wait for it... that's you if I'm not mistaken."
"That's not me, I've seen that jacket in my life!"
"Maybe, we're asking him the wrong questions." I said finally.
"You're not lying about killing Jennifer but you are lying about something."
"Balthazar, I'm not lying."
"Liar. Liar, listen to me. Somebody out there took and they wanted to frame you, why?"
"I don't know."
"You're lying again. And I don't have to read your mind to know that. Who killed her?!"
"I don't know!"

I ran to him and grabbed him out of his seat, supernaturally fast, "Who killed her?! Who killed her, Jonathan?!"
"Balthazar, put him down!" Ashton said with his human high authority voice.
"Not until he tells me who killed her."
"You're in a police precinct, put him down!"
"I'll like to see you stop me!"
"Balthazar, you're killing him!" Sasha exclaimed.
"He's killing himself."

Ashton put out the gun and took his firm shot at my shoulder. But as the gun was sounded off, everything began to slow down. I turned around to see everyone frozen and that was not the worst part, the man I was choking miraculously disappeared out of my hand.

"You have got to be kidding." I said in disbelief.

"No, Nephew. I'm not kidding." Aunt Azarel said blankly.

I when from abundantly angry to demonically hot-headed within mere seconds after hearing her voice and seeing her with Jonathan totally unaffected by the 'time freeze'.
