Kait POV
**********
"Kait, you need to live on. If you don't, he'll get what he wants, he'll win." Cory said.
"But I can't! There is no way I can do that when my soul is Torn!" I yelled.
"You need to gather the strength to pull your soul together again. You need to gather up the pieces and continue your fight with your ex."
"I don't know how to do that! The pieces aren't even here! I can't take back what I don't have!"
"If you don't, you will never be able to truly rest. You'll become an anḗsycho pneúma, a being neither dead nor alive who is trapped within the Otherworld without the comfort of even it's own spirit." He explained.
"How do I pick up the pieces and get my body back?"
"I wish I could tell you, but I don't know."

Sydney Sage was standing in the lobby of the Alchemist building when Dimitri and I walked in. She immediately swept us into a meeting room.
"I heard about Kait. I take it that she was what you wanted to meet with me about?" She stated.
"Yes, that is correct." Dimitri replied.
"I have only read legends about what has occurred and none of them ended well." She explained.
"Do you know of any way that we could help Kait? My mother already lost my father, she doesn't need to lose her best friend and bondmate, too." I said.
"I will tell you all that I know about what has occurred. What has happened to Kait has only occurred in legends and folklore. Her body is still physically alive, but her soul has been removed from it. She appears to be in a coma, but she's not. She is slowly dying and becoming what is called an anḗsycho pneúma. She is becoming a being that is not dead, but is not alive. It is trapped in the world of spirits without the comfort of even it's own spirit. Kait's soul is Torn, ripped into pieces." Sydney explained.
"Is- is there a way to help her?" I asked.
"She needs a Spirit Guide, someone who enters the world of the dead and helps her figure out how to gather up the pieces of her soul, then helps her return to her body."
"And how do we figure out who that Spirit Guide is?" Dimitri asked.
"It is someone who she once loved unconditionally, who eventually broke her heart."
"Are you thinking who I'm thinking?" Dimitri asked me.
"There is no way that we will have him enter the Otherworld to help her! All he will do is harm her more than help her!" I yelled.
"I'm confused." Sydney stated.
"Do you remember when Kait called you about a Vampire problem roughly a month ago?" Dimitri said.
"Yeah, I got chased around the house by her ex husband turned strange-looking Strigoi."
"That is who we immediately thought of after your explanation." I said.
"Oh. Oh! Him?! " She said, slowly realizing what that meant.
"Yes, the infamous Dave Fergeuson." Dimitri replied.
"The legend said someone who she once loved unconditionally and broke her heart, not arch nemesis! There has to be someone else who fits that criteria other than him!" Sydney spat.
"The only other person I could think of would be her mother." I pondered.
"But it couldn't be her mother because from what I understand, she has never had any love for her mother." Dimitri added.
"Sister?" I thought out loud.
"She has never loved her sister, either."
"This could be harder than we originally figured." I stated.
Melanie POV
**************
I knew that the best hospital option for Rosa was the one she worked at. It was the most logical choice. Everyone knew her and knew what she would want, the doctor that I insisted to take care of her was one of the best doctors around and he knew more about Viu than any other Human I knew of. Lissa had Kait's body shipped there immediately and the helicopter arrived as soon as Laura, Rose, and I did two hours later.
The first thing I did when we got there was go down to the cafeteria for something to eat, seeing as I hadn't eaten since supper the night before. Right then I was solely surviving on a lone bottle of donated human blood. I was not only starving, but an emotional wreck as well. Normally I would lean on Rosa when I felt like I did, but this time I had no one. My husband had been killed and my best friend was most likely destined to die as well. I sat in the cafeteria eating and crying for an hour before Dr. Cuddy came down looking for me.
"Are you okay?" She asked, sitting down across from me.
"I-I'm fine." I mumbled, trying to gain control over myself.
"If you were, you wouldn't be sitting here alone and crying." She answered, grabbing my hand.
"I guess."
"From the way Laura talks all of you have been having a difficult time lately. Do you want to talk about it?" Cuddy asked.
"What is there to talk about? My husband was killed and my best friend is in a coma but she's not because she watched her soul mate get killed." I muttered.
"I haven't gotten the chance to see Welling yet, so I don't know what's going on with her. Could you fill me in a little bit?" Cuddy requested.
"You know about Spirit and the psychic bonds, right?" I asked, making sure I didn't explain anything she'd be confused about assuming that she knew about everything.
"I know a vague summary." She replied.
"So what happened was about ten or fifteen years ago. Kait had just gotten back from her honeymoon with her ex husband, the man who caused all this. I was camping at her place of work at the time, and one night I somehow died in my sleep. My late husband immediately called her down to our trailer where she used her Spirit magic to bring me back from the dead, forging a psychic bond between us where I can see what goes on in her mind through her eyes and she can see what goes on in my mind through my eyes. Well, currently when I go into that bond to see what's going on inside of her head, it's blank. The only way I can accurately describe it is that the little thing in there that makes her Kait is gone, if that makes any sense at all." I explained.
"That makes perfect sense. Now how soon after she watched her soul mate die did this happen?"
"Almost immediately. At first I thought she just fainted, but when I tried to see what was going through her head, there was absolutely nothing there. Her mind was completely silent."
"I think I understand now. Are you ready to go back to see her?" She said.
"I guess. I've been putting it off ever since I got here." I said, throwing the remainders of the food away.
"She's in good hands, Melanie. We won't let anything happen to her." Cuddy assured me.
"But we only have a month to figure out how to get her soul back or her body dies!" I stated in a panic.
"From what I understand, Dr. House has his team out looking for answers, and you have people looking for answers. Out of all the people searching, someone is bound to find an answer. If I have anything to do with it, she will not die." She explained, trying to calm me down.
When I walked into Rosa's hospital room, the full force of what had occurred finally hit me. There was a very good chance that my best friend and bondmate would not return, and if she did, she probably wouldn't be the exact same Rosa I knew and came to love. I grabbed her hand and finally let myself breakdown.
