Melanie POV
**************I immediately began reading the book from Ekaterina when I returned from picking Laura and Rose up from the airport. The book didn't have a table of contents, but the sections were clearly marked with small tabs sticking out from the top of the book. There was one section that told everything I would need to do.
Somehow I would need to get a stake made out of electrum, a naturally occurring gold/silver alloy, and charm it with all five elements. I would then need to stake Dave with it and his spirit would be sent into the Otherworld to help Rosa. I hoped that she would decide to listen to him, yet somehow I figured she wouldn't even think about listening to him, knowing Rosa.
"Rose! Laura!" I yelled.
"We're right here, Melanie." Laura said, sitting in the chair next to me.
"Oh, right." I said, turning a bright shade of red. "Anyway, do either of you know where to find a stake made of a metal called Electrum?"
"I've never heard of Electrum. Ask Sydney Sage." Rose answered.
The confused look on Laura's face more or less told me that she didn't know.
"Maybe House would know." I pondered, running to find him.
I finally found him in his office discussing a case with his team. Naturally, he was being an ass as always.
"House, we have a visitor." Foreman stated, seeing me in the doorway.
"Can I help you?" House sneered.
"I hope so. You wouldn't happen to know where to find a stake made of a metal called Electrum, would you?" I said.
"What would this be for?" House questioned.
"Getting Rosa, er, Dr. Welling back." I stuttered.
"Oh, right, Welling. Has her condition changed any?" He asked.
"Not at all."
"I'll have one of these guys check up on her every once in a while since Cuddy insisted that we take on her case." He replied.
"I- I don't really think that's entirely necessary, considering that nothing really changes at all." I said.
"Of course it is. She's one of my patients, and a valued member of my team." He said, " Now if you don't mind, could you show us to her room?"
"I- I guess." I replied, walking toward Rosa's room.
"She looks peaceful at least. Now what did you say you needed?"
"A stake made of Electrum."
"What is Electrum, exactly?" Dr. Chase asked.
"A naturally occurring alloy of silver, gold, and occasionally copper." I explained.
"What would this stake be for? I'm confused." Dr. Cameron asked.
"Getting Kait's ex-husband into the Spirit World so he can help her get back the pieces of her soul that she lost." I said.
"Wasn't he just here? Where'd he go?" Rose asked.
"Oh god, I left him in Cuddy's office with Mikhail!" I yelled, running off to get Dave and Mikhail.
"It's about time you showed up!" Cuddy shouted as I entered.
"Yeah, I know. I'm very sorry I left him with you for so long! I completely forgot I left these two in here." I said.
"Well, take them back. Especially him." She said, pointing at Dave.
"How bad was it?" I asked.
