Jasmine's POV (Continuation) -
"Thank you for the delicious dinner," I say to Xander as he gives me the 'don't you joke around me' look.
"You do know, Cocoa that, these Oreos are not your dinner. They are more like evening snacks," he replies as we both lay on the bed with Oreo laying beside me as some random show plays on the television, which neither of us are paying attention to.
"At 8 in the night?" I ask, a smile playing on my lips.
"Not my fault, my fridge is full of barbequed avocados," Xander mumbles, under his breath.
"You know you don't have to starve for me. You can go and eat those avocados. I am positive, I won't get allergic by its mere sight."
"No, I don't want to eat them. Besides, I have already ordered pizzas for us. No avocado pizza, don't worry. You can't say no to pizza, can you?"
"Actually I can, studies show that the majority of the fat in most pizzas is saturated fat. If you eat too much saturated fat, you increase your risk for heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels, all of which could prove fatal," I reply, smirking.
"Hey! Don't you go all dietician on me. Besides, if we are already on the topic of food. Then you must know that drinking large amounts of coffee can cause a spike in blood pressure and heart rate. Studies have suggested that coffee increases heart rate, thanks to caffeine's impact on hormones and neurotransmitters."
"But drinking coffee in moderation—one to three cups per day– shouldn't have a noticeable impact on a healthy adult. Up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day appears to be safe for most healthy adults. That's roughly the amount of caffeine in four cups of brewed coffee," I answer back immediately to Xander.
Nobody berates my love, my life--
La vie?
The what?
La vie. French for my life.
How the hell do you even know that? I ask my inner being.
It's just something I picked up from here and there and I end it with the flicking of my hair. Unfortunately, I can't control your head movement.
"When it comes to coffee, no one can beat you, Cocoa," Xander says with a laugh, drawing my attention back to our conversation.
"How did you know all these facts about pizza and coffee?" Xander asks as he mindlessly flips through the channels.
"When you have a best friend like Al, you can expect your room to be cluttered with some or the other magazine and trust me those fashion magazines are crazy. Like see their index, it goes from You are beautiful the way you are - How to lose weight fast - How to make strawberry shortcake and brownies at home- Advertisement or ratings of best restaurants - How a maid a day, keeps stress away-"
