Joelle woke up on a sofa, though her last memories were on the roof. Ashton was nowhere to be seen, but there was a blanket pushed back on the other sofa, so she hoped it meant he was there.

She pulled her phone out of her backpocket, cursing when she noticed that she had 10%. Quick, text the boys.

Joelle took to creeping, texting Luke to make sure he was awake before entering his room to retrieve her bag. She prised open the door, to find Luke's bedroom being a lot messier than he expected. Her bag was resting underneath the chair she left it under, and all was well. Luke was still in bed, but he was awake.

"Morning Joelle" He muttered "Everyone is downstairs with my parents... I'm too hungover, and I don't want to blow our cover" Luke told her, pointing lazily to the chair that her bag was under.

"Morning Luke - did you find your present?" She asked, picking up her bag and going through it, passing him the wrapped vinyl "There you go, happy birthday"

Joelle watched him unwrap it carefully, trying to gauge his response as she organised her stuff so she could get changed in a bathroom with ease.

"Thanks! Mum and dad just got me a record player, so this is perfect - uh, if you wanna get changed somewhere, there's a bathroom through that door" He told her with a smile, setting the vinyl on top of his end table.

"Glad you like it, thanks dude!" She smiled, picking her bag up and locking the bathroom behind her, toning down her look completely - the skirt was corrected to look conservative, and it was only when she caught herself in the mirror, she realised that at some point she must have borrowed someone's hoodie. Ashton's, maybe? Probably. She tugged it over her hips and made herself look a lot more conservative so she had any chance of leaving a good impression on Liz.

After completely revamping her look and brushing her hair, she tiptoed downstairs and made her way into the kitchen. Thank god, the first thing she was greeted by was Calum, who hugged her and offered her some food.

"Nice hoodie, Joelle" Michael teased from his seat at the table, making her go to flip him off but remember that Luke's parents were in the room.

"Oi, respect your elders" She teased, leaning against the counter.

"You must be Joelle, Ashton's classmate. The boys have said good things about you" Liz smiled, embracing her gently.

"Nice to meet you. Where is Ashton, by the way?" Joelle asked, not seeing the boy at all.

"On the phone to someone outside, he'll be back in a tick. He's you kids' ride home, right? I'd recognise that rolling pile on my drive anywhere"

Ashton had dropped off Calum and Michael, and so now it was just them in the car, just Ashton and Joelle.

"Do you want this hoodie back?" She asked, hoping to god he would say no. It was so comfy, and it smelt of coffee beans and Ashton's detergent and she just needed it.

"No, you can keep it, looks better on you than it does on me" He told her with a smile, turning up the radio.

"Lies, Ashton Irwin, but okay" She laughed, sneakily hiding a ten dollar note inside the console so that he wouldn't notice, but he'd find it.
