Chapter 3

Getting on campus, I headed straight to my professor's office to submit my assignment with Jace still at the  back of my mind. I still had been trying to reach him on my way to school. By afternoon, I was done with my lectures. I sat on a bench under a tree to check if he had called back but he still hadn't. Many thoughts ran through my mind; most of which were bad but I dismissed them.
Just when I was thinking of what to do next, i raised my head and saw Nathan –Jace's best and closest friend– heading my way.

I let out a breath I wasn't even holding. I was partly relieved. At least, I had seen Nathan. This feeling was short lived when I saw the look etched on Nathan's face.
Now, he was walking at a slower pace in my direction. He seemed to also be thinking as his brows knot and unknot. For someone who is so jovial and amiable with a contagious smile usually plastered on his face, something was 'really' wrong.
I had a bad feeling. He was almost always usually with Jace.
When he got to where I was, I could saw his eyes glimmering with moisture. I prepared myself for d worst, but what came out of his mouth was not nearly close to what I could have expected......
