Chapter 2

 Everything was a blur to magnus he couldn't see anything. He heard the beeping of his heartbeat? He was slowly opening his eyes and saw his mom sitting next to him on a chair. 

"momma?" Magnus said.

Eva slowly lifted her head off the bed and lit up when she saw her son. "Honey! How are you feeling? Nurse," she called. "he's awake!"

"Mom, I'm fine, I..." Magnus looked around the hospital room," Were am I?"

" Your at the hospital, you passed out after school. A kid, god what was his name... Oh um, Alec I think his name was called an ambulance. He hasn't left since yesterday. Is he a new friend? Boyfriend..?"

"God mom, really? I'm in the hospital, was passed out and you want to know if I have a boyfriend?!?" Magnus was getting irritable and the nurse changing his IV wasn't helping.

" well I wouldn't need to ask if you would just talk to me! I mean come on, the only reason I'm getting to see you right is now because you got hurt. Not because my so called son came home and visited his poor mother who misses him dearly!" She looked like she was going to cry but that's impossible,  she has a family she can care for, people to love her and need her, magnus thought, she shouldn't even be here, she has a precious little life awaiting her. Magnus watched as the nurse left, not being able to look his mom directly in the eyes,  he did...eventually.

"Well, whose fault is that? Because last time I checked, Mother, you cheated on dad and divorced him for your rich boyfriend and his spoiled little brat of a son, not me! Leave mom. Just go." Magnus really didn't want her to stay any longer than she already had.

"Do not talk about them that way! If that's what you really want than ok, I will leave. But know you will always have a room at the house with you step brother and father. Who would really like to see you as much as I do. Think about it." And she turned and walked out of the small hospital room.

The door shut then opened and Magnus rolled his eyes and said, "I said you need to leave. Just leave me alo-" Then Magnus looked over and it wasn't his mom, it was Alec.

" oh, um, ya ok I was hoping to at least talk to you first, about what happened but ok, see you at school." Alec said as he turned to leave with a sad look in his perfect face.

"Oh no sorry you can stay, I thought you were someone else,  stay, please." Magnus felt himself blush at the embarrassment of begging him to stay.

Alec walked over to the chair his mom had sat in moments before and asked him the question he had hoped he would not ask. " Who was that guy who was hitting you? And how do you know him?" Alec looked so cute when he was worried. But it really isn't any of his business who I get involved with even if they almost kill me.

" He is my ex not that it matters anymore." Magnus really didn't want to talk about this.

"Oh, why was he trying to kill you. You don't have to answer it is kind of a touchy subject." Alec looked generally curious about it like he was... no way, was he jealous, of Angle?

" Angle-" Magnus was cut off.

"Angle? huh wrong name. sorry, continue." 

"Anyway...," magnus smirked, "Angle and I broke up because he was either drunk or high every time I saw him. I couldn't handle it, so I broke it off with him. He hit me and I called the cops and left. Haven't seen him since, it's been months I thought or, hoped he would just forget about me and move on with his pathetic life. Sorry this is probably boring you." Magnus was done with talking about it and was glad when Alec moved on.

"Well since we were supposed to hang out and we didn't I think when you check out of here we should go get you some real food." Alec was so good at this, but Magnus had to tease.

" Is this a date, and so soon, Alec I had no idea." Magnus couldn't help but laugh at Alec as he blushed and started to defend himself.

"I'm simply trying to get to know you Magnus Bane."
