Chapter 8

"Tell me everything!"

"I don't know if that is the best thing for you right now."

"Anything to get my mind of the fact I almost died, please Maggy." The only one who has ever called Magnus that, was Catarina.

"Ok. Fine." And so he told her. He told her about shadowhunters and Downworlders, how he was a warlock and immortal, how Alec and him are a thing but also not a thing, and he also told her about how Damin was being all flirty again, even though it was off topic. He did leave out a few things he wasn't ready to talk about or knew how.

She was silent for a long time, she just looked at me and then she started to laugh. Not a giggle, but a full on can't breathe need air kinda laugh. She turned a deep read and there were tears coming down her face,"Wow, I believed about 1/4 of that. The part about Damin. And I understand why you don't want to tap that again but damn, he is so h-o-t hot! But maybe proof would help. I need to see it to believe it, sry maggy." She looked like she would love to believe, but she just couldn't or wouldn't.

"It's really not a problem, and the thing about Damin is everytime I look at him, I see my parents and I can't handle him and his dominant-ness. He just isn't who I'm into anymore. So, I guess I'm saying... go for it, if you wanna be all smexy and flirt I don't mind." Magnus knew she had a thing for him the first time she had ever met him. I invited him over long before my mom met his dad and Catarina made a surprise visit to my house and when she saw him, she practically drooled all over the carpet. 

"Really!? You would let me!? I love you more than anyone in the universe. Your my hero!" Magnus thought she looked kinda tired and a little pale, but he had to know what happened, and why she out of anyone else got shot

"So, um, there's something I gotta ask and I want you to be really honest with me about it ok?" He really was uncomfortable about the subject so he kept avoiding her gaze.

"Of course, I am always honest with you." She looked so happily at him, with complete trust and love.

"Why did that guy come after you? And try to kill you?" Magnus looked away half way through the question he felt so ashamed.

"You didn't know who that was? That was the lightwoods, the dad I think. I have no idea that they used guns now those dirty bastards, but ya the shadowhunters have been tracking me down for centuries. Just like you. They have discovered us so we must go now, when they let me out." She said as though I have forgotten something important.

"Shadowhunters are not looking for me. I was with Alec earlier, I would know don't you think? And we can't just up and leave, I have a family and friends!" Magnus was starting to panic.

"What has gotten into you? Just do what you always have. Erase their memories and then plant new ones in the new 'family' you pick." Magnus didn't understand what she was saying and was starting to freak him out.

"I lost my memories..." Magnus whispered to himself.

Catarina gave me a look of pity and said, "look, if you want I can give them back. It's a simple spell." Magnus didn't know what to say.

"I...uh...I...I-I'm not sure how t-to feel about this." He wanted his memories back, but could he trust her?

"Ok. Ok i'll do it, i'll let you poke around in my head to give me back my memories. but do you know who else's memories are gone or is it just me?"

She looked extremely sad in that moment when she said, "Magnus, everyone's memories were taken."
