I was helping her study like I promise last night.

She look at me then put her phone back down.

"Watch them tonight make sure your room door is lock and you have some headphones. "I got up "Going to get some chips,you want something?"

I nod my head walking out her room and downstairs to the kitchen. I walk straight to the snack closet. I grab two bag of purple Doritos and a blue Fanta.

"Yo big forehead ass always in the kitchen." JJ said as soon as I turned around.

"And?" I walk pass him

Me and JJ do not get along and I don't know why he always have a attitude or a problem with me ..we actually had a physical fight when I was sixteen when he said something about my dead mother so I punch him in his mouth..don't talk about my birth mother..period.

"You keep eating you gon blow the fuck up.." he smirk at his own corny joke

"And my face will still look better than all the hos you went out with." I fake smile going back to Zuri room

"Yo ugly ass brother get on my nerves." I sat down back on the rolling chair opening my bag of chips

"Girl y'all always auguring." She chuckle now sitting on her bed

"He always coming for me I don't even say nothing to his light bright ass." I rolled my eyes

"You light skin too Gege."

"Ain't Nobody ask you." I threw a chip at her. She pick it off her shirt and ate it.

I shook my head laughing.

"I will be so happy when your mother come back." My daddy said looking at the tv.

"Daddy you don't do nothing." I look at him We was both sitting on the same couch while JJ sat on the single one

"What? So who cook all the meals you eat?" He look at me

"You don't have to cook for us..."

"Aye pops she don't speak for me.keep doing what you doing. Them hot dogs was fire ..what type of water did you use cause I know it wasn't tap." Jabari said sucking up

"You just lazy Jabari..daddy I really think you need a boys night out with uncle juice and Bestfriend Auggy."

"I'm fine with my kids." He look at me and Jabari

"When the last time you did go out and have a drink? Mommy gone living her best life.."

"Me and Jabari old enough to cook for ourselves go have some fun..mommy not here to call you every hour." I said knowing that caught his attention.

He look a Jabari who was on his phone then back at me. "Okay I'll go call them and see if they with it." He got up

"Okay." I watch him got into his room then look at Jabari who was already looking at me.

"What you up to?"

"Oh nothing." I group text the message that Dj and Zuri was in.

I chuckle at him "Got it , let me walk you to your car."

"Bye dad." I kiss his cheek and wave as he pulled off. I look to the other side of the road confused because I didn't know anybody moved in the rented house yet but there was a u haul tuck just sitting there.

"Hi how are you?" A man came out from the back. He look..sick everything was wrinkled and sagging.

"Hi." I wave "You moving in?"

"You can say that me and my wife just came back from Chicago." He walk a lil close to me

"Oh..well this is a great neighborhood..I'm sure you going to love living here. " I smile

He now stood right in front of me just staring.

"Well I'm going to go..it was nice meeting you..?" I said waiting for him to say his name

"Luke" He held his hand out

I shook it then went back in the house.

A feeling went over me as I shut the front door ..I just shook it off and went to go get ready for Dj to pick me up.
