Chapter 5 "Not your little girl"

"Daddy did my mail come?" Gege ask her father who was making lunch for them.

"I don't know baby I didn't check the mailbox yet." He squeeze some mustard on a piece of bread

"Well can I go check it? I wanna know if my phone case came in." She smile at him

"Yeah." He said never looking up from making the sandwiches

"Remember Daddy no mustard on mine." Gege said walking outside.

Across the street there was a lady with sweats on sitting on the Porch. Gege wave being polite but the lady just went in the house. Okay that was weird. Gege thought opening the mailbox getting the mail. Her eyes went straight to the white package. She quickly open it up taking her pink Kate spade case out. She smile dancing a little looking at it.

"That's a pretty case." Gege jump turning around to see her neighbor Luke

"Thanks,I just got it. How you doing?" i smile putting the mail under my armpit

"I'm fine. Have you met my wife?" He move showing his wife who was standing behind him.

"No I haven't, How are you ?" I stick my hand out

"I-I'm Fine." As I shook her hand all I felt was bones. Her face was sulk in like she haven't ate in months.

"So you guys enjoying the new house? " I ask smiling

"Yep." He Stared at me again. It was like he was trying to figure out if he knew me from somewhere or something like that.

"I didn't get your name?" I said to the lady who was looking down

"It's Shari..."

"We'll be going now..you have a good day." Luke cut her off

"You too." I said wondering why he cut her off like that.

I watch him grab her arm walking into his yard. Putting it in the back of my head I walk back in the house.

"Dad we got new neighbors." I sat the mail down putting my new case on my phone

"I seen that. Did you meet them?" He sat the sandwiches that was on plates down on the table

"Yep They Alright But they both look sick..skins and bones. The lady really pretty though..she look very familiar... him too." I shrug my shoulders "I don't know. Like my new case?" I move my phone side to side so the glitter can fall.

"Love it." he sat down "Jabari come eat." His deep voice boom through the house.

Jabari came downstairs walking to the table taking a seat.

"What was you doing up there." I pick up a sub sandwich.

"Playing the game since we stuck in the house." He said taking a shot at my dad

"Who fault is that." I said back pouring some chips on my plate

"His..what you doing on Snapchat anyway." He look at my dad

"Too see what your mother doing..and all y'all had to do was ask." He bit his sub

"Daddy you was going to say no. You always treating me like I'm a kid,I don't know what you going to do when I move into my dorm room." I drunk my ice tea waiting for him to answer.

"You don't know that, and who said who was getting a dorm room?"

Gege heart broke "mommy said that I can get one."

"She ain't never ask me." he look at me

"Why do she need to ask you?" I said getting mad

"Because I'm paying for it." Johnny said
