Lamb Skewers

It was a sunny morning during the time when I was in my room. I was sitting on my bed with a letter in my hand. I took a deep breath, then exhaled. I opened the letter. I read quickly and anxiously. My eyes widened.

Oh. My. Gobbles.

"MOOOOOM" I screamed from my room. I heard her coming up the stairs. She opened the door with a worried look.

"What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

"Nothing's wrong." I said calming her down. Maybe I shouldn't have screamed. "It's just, I GOT A SCHOLARSHIP TO J.A.M UNIVERSITY!!!" I yelled jumping up and down with excitement followed by my mom jumping up and down with me. I've always wanted to go to J.A.M University. It was one of the best universities in the country for fine arts.

"I'm so proud of you Eun-Jung." She said with a grin from ear to ear.

"There is just one tiny problem." I said "They won't provide a place to stay." The university was a three hour drive from our house which would make it difficult if I stayed home while at the university.

"Oh dear." She said. "Well, that's not my problem. You're an lady that's becoming independent. Show me by getting a place to stay." And with that she left the room.

I rolled my eyes. I got my laptop and started searching. I decided that I wanted a roommate so I can stop being so introverted. After hours of searching, I found a affordable, nice looking apartment. It was about perfect. They didn't really say much about the roommate, but said that it was going to be a college student.

I'm assuming that this college student is a female. It would make things more comfortable for me.

As I was finishing up, my big brother busted into my room.

"You should've knocked first, Jin Oppa." I said smiling at him.

"I couldn't do that when my little sis got accepted to one of the best universities." Jin replied and gave me a big brother hug. He let go of me. "I'll make you lunch just for you." He said then walked out of my room.

"But you always do." I shouted and that's when I heard his windshield wiping laugh. Then I started to laugh.

He's the best.

"Thanks for lunch, Jin Oppa." I said finishing my lunch, then ran upstairs to my room.

Let's get started.

I have to move in the apartment in a week. I started listing the things I needed to bring from home and what to buy. I was finished in an hour.

Oh shoot.

I forgot that I have to meet up with Seulgi. Seulgi is my best friend since grade school. We are basically sisters. Back to what I was doing.I started run all over the place. Picking clothes, making myself look at least presentable. I went downstairs to put my shoes on. I wasn't surprised to still see Jin eating in the kitchen. He's probably on his fourth bowl right now. I waved him goodbye and ran out the door.

Fifteen minutes later.

I went into the mall. Seulgi was waiting at the entrance. I walked over to her. She looked at me confused.

"What happened to you?" She asked

"Don't worry about it." I said. "Let's have some fun." And we started walking around.

I told her that I was moving to an apartment that had a roommate. She was quite surprised when I said the reason why.

"Woah. Eun-Jung, I'm so proud of you. My bestie is growing up so fast" She said wiping a fake tear. I rolled my eyes and we started giggling. "Well let's go shopping! My treat!"

We went store to store getting more and more bags. I insisted her not to pay, but she keeps on paying. This girl. After that, we went to get some drinks.

"Thank you so much, Seulgi. You're the best." I said and hugged her. She gave me her bear hug every time.

Seulgi looked at her phone to see the time. "I better go. I'm late to dance practice." She said. We said our goodbyes and we went our ways.

It was about five-thirty, so I decided to get some street food for my family. I put the bags of clothes in one bag, so it would be easier to carry and started my journey. Later, I got all sorts of food. But I had one last destination.

Min's lamb skewers

They were my most favorite food in the world and I needed to get it. I walked to the area and found it.

I saw there was only one left before they closed. I walked up and grabbed the lamb skewer. It all happened in slow motion. As I was about to take it I saw another hand to my left trying to grab it. So we grabbed it at the same time, but my hand made it there faster to grab the stick, so the person's was hand on top of mine. I looked and saw a guy looking at me. He was tall, muscular, and quite a good looking guy around my age.

"Sorry, but I grabbed it first." I said in the most polite way I could. I tried taking the lamb skewer, but his grip tensed and he pulled me closer.

"Sorry, but I'll be taking that." He said and slipped it out of my hand. He gave the owner his money and walked away.

"HEY, JERK." I screamed which made him stop and turn around. He came walking towards me. I wasn't scared of him and I stood still.

"What did you say?" He said trying to make him look bigger which he already is.

"I just wanted your attention that's all." I said innocently and grabbed the lamb skewers out of his hand and started running as fast as I could. He started running after me, but it was too hard for him. I was a tiny girl in a big crowd of people. After a while, I lost him. I smiled at the lamb skewer.

It was so nice of him to pay for my lamb skewers.

I made it back home and opened the front door. I saw my parents and the brother sitting on the couch watching tv. I held up the food that I had brought them.

"So that's why you are late." My dad said shaking his head. I looked at my phone.

"But it's only eight-thirty." I replied showing him the time on my phone.

"Less talking more eating." Jin interrupted and took the food out of my hands and started eating it at the dinner table.

"Hey! Save some for me!" I said as I made my way to the dinner table. We all started eating.

Today has been great. I thought as I ate my lamb skewers. Jin tried to get a piece, but I slapped his hand. He started giving me his weird pouting face. I rolled my eyes and gave him the stick.

Later, I was finished with dinner and made my way upstairs. I wrapped myself in a fluffy blanket and jumped on my bed. I grabbed my laptop on the side of the bed and started to watch my favorite kdrama.
