I was sure to keep Ezethiel close, we was looking around the entire time. Then his ears perked up and he froze. I looked down at him in confusion, but he had his eyes locked on the tall doors that led to the back of the store. I then heard shouting coming from in the back. I reached up under my thick black hair and pulled out my dagger. Ezethiel growled at the doors. Then, he shot off like a rocket through and I took off after him. I chased him back into the back around all the boxes and we saw a man in a black robe aiming a gun at another man. They were shouting at each other.
"You weren't suppose to befriend the bitch!" The man holding the gun shouted at the other. "And you weren't suppose to give her real money! You broke two big rules, Ryan!" I froze realizing the man holding the gun was shouting to Ryan. The man who had hired me to do a killing. I looked down at Ezethiel who was looking up at me. I nodded to him and gestured for him to walk the opposite way from me. Ezethiel did so silently. I walked behind the man holding the gun. I walked slowly and silently up until I was a foot or two behind the man. Ryan noticed me, but stayed professional and didn't let the other guy notice. I got my dagger ready to slice, but before I could a tall man came out of no where and ran past the man. Before I could see his face the man disappeared. The man that was holding the gun dropped with a clean cut in his throat. That man kills the same way I do. A clean cut to the throat works like a charm. I leaned down to feel for a pulse...none. I then ran over to Ryan and held my dagger to his throat. I whistled for Ezethiel, but he was no where to be seen.
"Who was that?!" I screamed at Ryan, "Don't think for one second I won't slit your throat right here right now."
"You've slowed down on the killing, Shadow." Ryan said. "You don't remember me from last year."
"No, I don't." I lowered my dagger. "Past client?"
"Nope, I was one of your targets, but you let me live."
"I never do that!" I screamed at him and then in an instant had my dagger to his throat again.
"You did with me." He whispered. "For awhile I thought you fancied me, Shadow."
"Shut up." I said as I slit his throat and he fell to the ground. I kicked his body hard in the gut. "I don't fancy anyone."
I turned around looking for Ezethiel. I hollered for him. I whistled for him. He was no where to be seen. I wondered about the random man who had killed the guy with the gun. Then a thought occured to me. What if that was Ezethiel? I asked myself. What if Ezethiel can be human as well as animals? The thought gave me chills. The though of that he saw me naked. He saw me change. I constantly had my hands on him. I froze. My heart raced. "That little pervert!" I shouted aloud and then dashed for the door. I rode home as fast as possible. A part of me knew he'd be there. Once I arrived home I tied my horse to the tree and dashed inside like a mad woman. I walked in and shouted his name, but Ezethiel didn't respond. I looked in the kicthen, then the living room...then I ran around the corner into my bedroom. To what I ran into even I was shocked. I saw an extremely attractive man laying in my bed naked. He had my blanket covering his parts, but he sat there comfortably staring at me.
"Honey I'm home." He said with a flirty look. I pulled out my dagger and held it tightly ready to defend myself. I couldn't even believe I trusted the shifter. Shifters deserve to die. I should've known. "Oh please," He said aloud, and then rolled off the bed and stood up. I tried to keep my eyes on his face, but I just couldn't. He was so well built. I held my dagger in front of me still. Ready for anything. "You're not going to hurt me, Shadow, I'm just like you." He said. I looked him up and down...taking it all in. I noticed he had a large gash in his throat. It was healed over, but it seemed fresh. I lowered my dagger, but kept my eyes on the man.
