Austin's POV

It bothered me more than it should have that Alan was gone. He left to walk into a snowstorm with some guy he probably just met! My thoughts weren't helping matters, so I decided to turn on the TV and flip through the available channels to see what programs were strong enough to reach the cabin in this kind of snowstorm.

Flip.

I came across an average-looking show and tried to focus on what the main character was doing, but I just couldn't wrap my mind around it. Maybe the sound of the winds getting a bit stronger was too distracting...

Flip. Flip.

Some news channel I've never heard of was giving a news story, something about a liquor store. Again, I felt distracted, and I started to flip faster.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

Golf was uninteresting.

Flip. Flip. Flip. Flip. Flip.

That girl's voice is annoying.

FlipFlipFlipFlipFlipFlipFlip.

It was no use trying to watch. My mind kept drifting back to Alan.

But why? He left on his own, it was his choice...if he found some other guy to talk to, then great! Maybe he'll forget about his feelings for me and it won't be so awkward around him

I paused. This was Alan I was talking about, a friend I've had since I can remember.

I'm not a homophobe, I thought. And yet I still called my best friend a faggot. I say I don't like him back, and I tease him like a fucking idiot! I blamed it all on Alan...

That's when I heard the cabin door shut and I switched off the TV. I looked to see the certain ginger that overwhelmed my thoughts. I couldn't bring myself to make eye contact with him.

"Must have been nice out there in the cold," I tried to joke, but it came out sounding more bitter than I'd planned.

He didn't seem to care. From the expression on his face, I could tell he was already done with this conversation. "Hn." He muttered. He went to grab a blanket and I took this chance to keep the conversation going.

"Who's the dude?" I asked.

From all the shit I put Alan through, I'm not surprised about what he did next, though it did catch me off guard. Blanket in hand, he turned around and asked me in the darkest, yet softest tone I had ever heard him speak, "What's it to you?"

I looked in another direction and scowled. "Just curious, jeez. You shouldn't be going out in the cold like that anyway. I'm not getting sick because of you."

As cliche as it sounds, it was like my mouth had a mind of its own. I wanted Alan to forgive me, not hate me by the end of the day.

"I'm going to bed," he stated, ignoring my question completely. He turned to leaved and walked towards his bedroom.

I should have left it at that. I should have let him rest and made up with him in the morning. But, no. Things don't always work out the way you want it to.

"Hey, don't ignore me asshole! I asked you a quest--"

Again, he turned around, scowling.

"Like I said, what's it to you?" Alan gave an attitude, rolling his eyes at me.

I stood there like a moron trying to figure out what to say. "What do you think your parents would say? Seeing you walk off with a random guy who looks at least 20, then coming back late. I don't know about you but that seems a bit odd." I told him.

"First off, our parents aren't here. Second why do you care so much?" Alan didn't even let me answer and slammed the door in my face.

He was right, why do I care so much?

Alan's POV

I'm really getting annoyed with Austin. He acts like a dick then he acts like he cares. I decided to text Oliver.

Oli: Wanna come over for a bit? I'm lonely :(

Me: I would but Austin would tell my parents. ;|

Oli: Awh, sneak out for me? Please baby?

Me: Alright, fine (:

Oli: Yay! I'll meet you half way since you don't know where I live (:

Me: Okay (:

I quietly opened the door to check if Austin was asleep, thankfully he was passed out on the couch. I grabbed my jacket and put my shoes on, slowly opening the door trying not to make a sound. I started to walk on the road I walked on before when Oli and I met.

I finally saw him in the distance and I couldn't help but smile.

"Hey." I said with a goofy grin.

"Hello handsome."  Oli said and leaned in to kiss me. His lips warmed me up. "Shall we go? I have something for us to do that you'll never forget." He smirked. I went along with it and followed him back to his place.

~x~
