"What are you doing in here?" I heard him ask. I looked around my room, unable to see anything that gave sign that Luke was in my room. I blinked away the grogginess and sat up. I closed my eyes and I could hear his voice again, but it was mixed in with the voice of that nurse.

"I'm sorry, dearie, but I have to do this." I heard the possession in her voice and I knew just who it was. Kaden. I jumped from out of my bed and I collapsed to the floor, feeling a strong grip on my heart. I gasped for air, knowing that there was no time to grab my cloak. I closed my eyes and stood in Kizzy's hospital room. I gasped in horror when I saw Kaden's hand around Luke's throat. I shot forward, diving into the body, tackling him to the ground. I heard Penny gasp and I heard her hit the table. I turned and saw that she was bleeding from her head. I crawled over to her and touched her arm.

"Penny. Penny, honey, stay with me," I told her comfortingly. She blinked a few times, trying to stay consious, but I knew that it was too late. Luke recovered and rushed out to get help. I glared over at Kaden, who just stared at the poor girl, his eyes wide. "Have you any idea what you've just done?! She's going to die! What were you trying to do, Kaden?! You could've killed him!"

"That was the plan!" he shouted back. I gaped at him, shocked. Kaden had been one to torment the insane, but he would never kill someone.

"You wanted to kill him? Are you fucking insane?!"

"It was all I could think of, Rose?! If he died, then you too could be together, just like you wanted." I shook my head, and looked back into Penny's eyes. She was looking right at me, my reflection evident in her eyes.

"It's going to be okay. I promise," I whispered to her. I heard her breathing become more relaxed and I looked at Kaden again. He was holding his knees to his chest. "I don't want him to die, and you should've known that this wasn't what I wanted. This is yet another one of Reaper's rules that you broke. Luke was meant to die in that car crash, not like this. His daughter is laying there merely five feet away and she would've gone to jail for murder, Kaden. Now be gone with you...before Reaper decides to show up." His gaze hardened and he disappeared in a puff of white smoke. I rolled Penny onto her side, her weak gaze still on me. I brushed the hair from her face, trying to seem friendly as I slowly reached into her body, withdrawing her spirit.

She came out as Luke came running back in. Penny was sobbing into her hands. "Why am I dead?" she asked through sobs. I wrapped an arm around her, and she leaned into my body, watching as her friends and coworkers tried to save her. A few of the nurses were crying when the doctor shook his head sadly. I kissed her head and departed to the Limbo Station, where she boarded the evening train to heaven and was gone for good. I sighed heavily and went back to the castle, where I was tearing things apart and throwing things until dawn.
