I swear everytime I see that man, he sends chills down my spine, just by LOOKING at me. I don't know what he saw when he saw me, but I was pretty sure that he hadn't seen my face. I hadn't seen him or Kaden since Penny's funeral. Kaden had actually teared and that was weird, because he never cried. I mean, he was a DEMON. Demons weren't suppose to cry! When Luke came out of the room, I snuck into see Kenzie. I touched her hand and her soul started to sit up. I looked over at the monitors. She was still alive, but the machines would be going crazy if I didn't have her back by sundown.

I took her hand and she widened her eyes at me, scared. I dropped the hood back and smiled sweetly at her. "Hi, Kizzy," I whispered softly. I knelt down beside her, rubbing my thumb over her knuckles. She gave me a smile, and I noted her two missing front teeth. "I'm R...Diane." Her eyes twinkled happily.

"Hi, Diane. How do you know my name?" I smirked and tilted my head to the side.

"I know your daddy." She smiled.

"Really?" I nodded my head.

"Yes, really. I wanted to take you on a little ride." Kizzy looked around, wondering. "Do you want to fly?" She smiled happily.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" she yelled jumping up and down. "Is my daddy coming with?" I shook my head sadly.

"No, I'm afraid he can't join us on this little adventure. Come with me and we'll fly across the sky, but we have to be back before sunset." She smiled sadly and I led her up to the hospital's roof. I took her hand tightly in mine, smiling. "Are you ready?" She nodded her head, and then she made the mistake of looking down at the ground.

"What if you drop me?" I smiled and knelt down, holding her arms in my hands.

"You don't have to worry about that, Kizzy, because I would NEVER let you get hurt. Do you trust me?" She nodded her head and I stood up, stretching my arms out. My wings sprouted out from underneath my shoulderblades. She gawked at them, her hazel green eyes wide.

"They're like angel wings...but black." She reached out and brushed her hand against the feathers. "They're really soft."

"Thank you. I don't use them often, but I thought today should be a special occasion." She smiled as I knelt down, spreading my wings. "Why don't you hop on my back? You have to hang on very tightly." She nodded her head and climbed on carefully. She wrapped her legs around my waist and I stepped onto the edge. "Ready?"

"Yeah." I took a step off of the building, flying headfirst down towards the ground. Kizzy was screaming at the top of her lungs and I opened my wings, sending us flying up high into the sky. Kizzy's screams of terror turned into cheers and giggles. I smiled, feeling the sun warm my face. That's when something went horribly wrong. I felt a lurch on my leg and I looked over my shoulder. There was nothing there, and then I felt something tear in my wing, I screamed in pain, and started to spiral down uncontrollably, Kizzy started to scream. I reached behind me and pulled her into my chest, wrapping my wings around her, protecting her.

I braced for impact as we started to spin like a snowball rolling down hill. I saw his face, taunting me with his hollow eye sockets. "You had your chance," he whispered. I tightened my grip around Kizzy, and I opened my wings again, flapping them, trying to land us safely. Our landing wasn't exactly as soft as I wanted it to be, and we did a somersault on the soft grass. I looked around, frightened. "Kizzy!" I shouted. I winced in pain as I tried to move my wing. I looked down and saw that it was bent awkwardly. I sighed heavily and started jogging, trying to find Kizzy. I saw her walking out of the pond in the park and I ran towards her, my arms open wide. I scooped her into my arms and she shook from the cold. "Oh, Kizzy, I was so scared!" She shook in my arms and I carried her towards the hospital and I looked around me. My eyes widened when I saw the sun beginning to set.
