I had just gotten to the hospital when the overhead coms went off and called a code blue in Kizzy's room. I dropped everything and sprinted for my daughter's room just as they got the defibrillator out and started to prep her for the shock. I had my hands covering my face as I broke down and cried. I was on the ground and had a set of arms wrap around me and started to try to calm and comfort me. I knew right away that it was Nikki. No one but her could attempt to try that. I was hauled away and taken to another room and was given a cup of water. By the time they got back, I had downed three of the cups. They told me she was stable and didn't know if anything had changed. I just nodded and continued to stare at the floor. Nikki had left sometime ago and I just sat there and did absolutely nothing.
It took three nurses and a doctor to finally get me calm enough that I could see that Kizzy was alright and stable again. I turned and saw that Nikki had came back with all of my bags and my coat. I just smiled and looked out the window and saw that it was the next day already. Great. I pulled out my phone and called my boss and told him that I wasn't going to be in for awhile. Kizzy almost died and I wanted to stay here. He said that was fine and he understood. I stayed the night again and I swear that I needed to get someone to fix this.
