It was labor day weekend and the Barnes was hosting the cook out for their friends and their kids that have been best friends since they were little. Dakota was sitting pool side and keeping to herself her boyfriend Cameron had broken up with her the week before after 3 years and she had noticed that when she needed her friends the most they all took a trip the weekend the week before and she had no idea what for or why she wasn't invited.
Sam stood up and said "Hey can we have everyone's attention please."
She looked up at him and saw the boys standing next to him. Steve said "We have made the decision that we will not be attending college and playing football. We have enlisted ourselves into the army. And our other announcement is last weekend we asked our girls to marry us and they said yes."
Dakota felt tears fall down her cheeks and she got up and grabbed her keys and left. She drove down to her family's lake house and sat on the docks wiping tears. After she left everyone hugged them and told them congratulations and Bucky looked around didn't see Dakota. He tried to call her and she ignored it. He looked down and said "Hey Ash baby I'll be right back okay." as he kissed her.
He got in his truck and drove down to the docks. "You know it's rude to leave in the middle of a party without saying goodbye." he said
He heard her sniffling and wiping tears. "Baby doll what is wrong?' he said
"Just go away." she said
"No Sawyer Dakota I will not. Not till you tell me what is wrong? Why did you leave the party?' he said
She got up and said "It's clear that I don't matter to you anymore."
"What the fuck? Dakota baby doll what is wrong?' he said
"I needed you all last weekend. Cameron dumped me last Thursday night and where were my friends when I needed them they were off on some romantic getaway getting engaged." she said
"Dakota I am so sorry I .." he said
"So I hope you all have a great fucking life cause it's clear that I no longer have friends." she said as she walked off.
"Dakota that's not true." he said
"Then why was I not told about this trip. Why was I not invited Bucky huh?" she said
"Dakota I we surprised the girls last minute." he said
She got in her car and said "Well good for them" and she drove off.
She went home and ripped up her UGA application. She packed up her cheer and dance stuff and zipped the bags up and Bucky came in and said "Baby doll stop what are you doing?'
"Just leave me alone." she said as she walked out.
She drove to the school and turned in her stuff and came back to her house and started to pack her suitcases and he said "Dakota what are you doing why are you packing up your clothes?"
"I"m leaving that's what I'm doing." she said
She put them in her trunk and her parents said "Dakota what's wrong?'
"I just want to be left alone. It's clear that nobody cares about how things make me feel." she said as she got in her car.
She took off and got on the interstate and called her grandma and said "Grandma I'm coming to you and grandpa."
"Baby what's wrong? Please be safe driving up here." her grandma Mary said
"I just. Bucky has hurt me so bad. I needed him and our friends last weekend when Cameron broke up with me and they were off on some weekend getaway with their now fiancées since they were joining the army they decided to propose to their girlfriends." she said
"Oh honey." Mary said
"I just feel alone right now so I'm coming to you cause I want to live with you all in South Carolina." she said
Back at her house everyone was trying to call her and she kept ignoring them since she was talking to her grandma. Natasha said "What happened? Why is she so upset."
"Cause apparently we are bad friends cause Cameron broke up with her last Thursday night when we all were in TN. She was hurt that she wasn't invited and she was hurt that when she needed us we were no where to be found." Bucky said
Ashlynn his fiancée said "Oh no.."
Melinda said "She just needs some time to cool off. Her feelings are hurt right now guys."
"Where is she going?' Bucky said
"I don't know." Marcus said
They all started to go all over Savannah to find her.
