After football season was over for Brandon he had been getting offers from the NFL. She had enough of the phone calls and the letters the gifts and packages and the random visits to their apartment. Brandon came home from class one day and he found her sleeping in the bedroom with all 3 kids.
The girls were 2 years old and Rhett was 7 months old since it was February. He woke her up and he said "hey don't you have class."
"No.. by the way you have 3 more people come by today one of which wouldn't stop pounding on the door while I was trying to get him to take his morning nap. So we need to talk cause I've been doing a lot of thinking." as she laid Rhett down in his crib that was in their room. Then she shut the door and he said "Baby I'm sorry that they keep coming by it's not like I can help it."
"Okay Brandon I love you but up until I got pregnant with Rhett you have never once told me that you wanted to go to the NFL then I got pregnant and that's all you seem to think about. So here's the deal darlin.. I will not sit here and be here take care of them while you are off playing football where I have no help or support system. So you have a choice to make Brandon me and the kids or NFL by yourself?' she said
"Doll baby tha's not fair." he said
"It's also not fair that I have 3 kids and you are asking me to move where ever they move you too away from my family." she said
"I'm going to go and maybe when I get back my wife will be my loving supportive wife." he said as he walked out the door.
She called her mom and vented to her and her mom said "Baby I think it's time that you two separate. When you graduate come home and get a teaching job here. We will help you with the kids if you need it."
"Thanks mom." She said
Brandon never came home that night and she did her homework and took care of the kids and went to sleep. The next morning she met him in the living room of the apartment after she took the kids to the daycare.
"have a nice time with who ever you slept with?' SHe said
"Dakota.." he said
"I'm not stupid when ever we get in a fight you run off and don't come home till the next morning so I know you have been cheating." she said
He took a deep breathe and she said "You know what. That question I asked you last night I"ll make it real simple for you. We are done you go to the NFL and me and the kids will go back to GA."
"Fine if that's what you want then I'll leave." he said
He went into the bedroom and packed his stuff up and he left. She found a lawyer and went to see him and filed for divorce with the help of her dad. She finished her senior year of college and moved back home to Savannah. She applied to the 3 high schools that were in her old home town.
They called her and she came in for a interview and took the job after they called her back to let them know that they were going to hire her for their English department. She got her divorce papers in the mail and as well as the paper that states that her kids now have her last name.
She celebrated Rhett's first birthday about a month into being back home with her family at her duplex that her dad helped her get and helped get her on her feet.
