The young justice team were just hanging around the mountain waiting for something to happen. There weren't any missions as of late and training was ... well training.
Wally was raiding the kitchen looking for snacks for himself and Robin. They were ganna have a video game marathon.
Megan sat beside Conner as they watched tv. Kaldur was training while Artemis was sharpening her arrows.
It was a normal 'off' day for the team. That is, it was until Batman contacted the young justice team to give them a mission.
"Team, a situation has arisen," Batman said once the team had come together. "There is an unusual energy source that has been found deep in the Amazon forest. This undiscovered energy source is so powerful that it could potentially destroy the world if it falls into the wrong hands. Your mission is to find and detain this energy before anyone else can."
Batman paused in order to let the team take in this new information. Once it look like there were no questions, he continued.
"I expect your return in 48 hours. Batman out."
Once the screen switched off, the team went and gathered everything that they needed, before getting on the bio-ship.
The flight from Happy Harbour to the Amazon was a long one, but still quicker than your average airlines.
In this time, Robin was researching as much as he could on this new energy. So far, all he has is the location of the energy and found that it is roughly the size of the bio-ship, if not bigger.
Robin also found that they would have to land the ship about a mile or two away as the canopy is so thick that it is almost impossible to penetrate. And it would take too much time for them to cut through the canopy.
"Here's the plan," Aqua-Lad stated. "We will land here," he pointed to a place on the map, a mile away from their destination. "From here we will split up and head towards the energy source. We do not know how big it is and we will not know until we get there."
They were a round of nods as Megan landed the bio-ship.
Setting up link. Came Megan's voice through their heads. Everyone online?
Right here beautiful, came Wally's voice.
Shut it, kid idiot, Artemis replied, already annoyed with the speedster and his flirting.
Knock it off, came Superboys rough voice.
Let's get a move on, I want to see this thing, Robin called before anymore time could be wasted. He wanted to get this done as soon as possible.
Robin is right, let's go. Split up and keep your eyes peeled for anything unusual. Aqua-Lad said. Stay in contact.
With those few words the team spread out and began their journey. The closer they got to the source, the thicker the forest become. The trees were almost on top of each other. It is unclear where one trees roots began and ended. To make it more confusing, it was unclear what was vine, and what was tree. The further they went, the more life there seemed to be. The buzzing of insects intensified and the amount of animals spotted was far beyond normal.
Superboy made his way through the forest, ripping out vines as they go in his way, and scaring off animals.
As he ripped out a vine, a flash of green caught his eye. He looked closer and saw that something green was shining from under the vines. Superboy quickly ripped more vines, uncovering a slightly curved green wall.
Guys, I think I found something Superboy said.
What did you find? Came Wally's voice.
It looks like a giant green wall...
Superboy, stay where you are, the rest of you, meet up at Superboys location. Kaldur commanded.
While he waited, Superboy pulled more vines off of the wall in order to see how big it was.
By the time the team had arrived, Superboy had ripped off about half of the vines in front of him. You could see the distinct curve of the wall either side and the beginnings of a dome shape on top.
"Wow..." Wally said as he saw the wall. "That looks so cool ! Not to mention the science that could possibly go in to making a wall like that!!"
"Whats that inside of the glowing wall?" Asked Artemis.
The team peered inside and saw what appeared to be a giant mechanical paw. The paw was about the high of Superboy alone... As they strained their eyes, they followed the limb up and up they came to the chest and then the head. The head was slightly bigger than the bio-ship...
"Robin," Kaldur called while staring in awe of the lion. "I think that it's time we contact the League."
