sorry it took so long to post. we've been busy. Enjoy!

P.O.V. Vera

It had been days since the incident at the pond. She was still very nervous about Adrian but she also felt that he was the kind of person that wouldn't hurt her. The day it happened was very hot and they weren't doing anything specific around the farm. She had gone into the house to get a drink of water, when she heard a car pull up. Now that was strange because no one ever came to the farm, not unless she invited them. She didn't remember inviting anyone. She went out to the front porch to see who was there and she froze. What was he doing there?

P.O.V. Adrian

It was strange to see someone at the farm. As he rounded the corner, he saw Vera standing on the porch. Her face was as white as a sheet and she was looking at someone standing in the yard. The man was nothing remarkable. He was about six foot and had brown hair with a touch of gray. He must have been at least sixty but something about the way Vera was acting seemed weird. He knew that she didn't like to be around people but it was different with this man. Almost like she feared him.

"What are you doing here, Fergus?" Vera asked.

"Now, now. Is that anyway to greet an old friend?" the man named Fergus asked. Vera just silently glared at him. " Anyway, your parents sent me because they were worried about you being by yourself. But I see your not alone out here, are you?" He was looking at Adrian.

"He is none of your concern." Vera said. " I do not need you here, so just go back to my parents and tell them I do not wish to be bothered again."

"I'm afraid I can't do that. Your parents have ordered me to stay here with you for a month and then report back to them on how you are doing," Fergus said. "So were will I be staying?" he asked while getting a suitcase out of the trunk of his car.

Adrian stepped forward, "I believe that Vera doesn't want you here. I think you should leave," he said.

Fergus looked up at him, " And I believe that this is none of your business, sir," he said. He started walking towards the house and Adrian went over to Vera.

"Are you okay?" Adrian asked her.

'Was she okay? ' She really didn't know herself but she didn't want to worry him. "Yes, I'm fine," she told him.

She said she was alright but he was still kind of worried, so he decided to stay as close to her as possible while he was here. He followed her into the house.

"I don't want you staying in this house," she was saying. "If you are going to stay, you can sleep in the barn. There is a very nice room above, in what use to be the hay loft." He didn't look like he liked this idea but he didn't argue and reluctantly went back outside.

"Adrian?" she asked after he left.

"Yeah."

"Um.... Could you stay close to me while he's around, please?" she asked.

"Sure. Is everything alright?" She was scaring me now. She never shows when she is upset or anything.

She shakes her head, "no, but I can't tell you about it right now. Okay?"

"Yeah. If you need anything, just tell me," I'd do anything for her if she would let me but she's not the kind of girl who would rely on anyone.
