Twenty Two

Cam's POV

I walked out of the bathroom after getting showered and ready to hear the boys arguing downstairs. I walked downstairs and stopped.

"No it needs to be done like this." I heard Beau scream in his high pitched voice.

"Shut up Beau, you'll wake her." Jai hissed in reply.

"You are making an absolute mess." Luke told them.

"We need to hurry up." Beau replied.

I waited and listened to them banging and crashing before I walked down the rest of the stairs and into the kitchen.

"What are you five up too?" I asked startling them.

"Cam, you weren't supposed to see this." Beau yelled making me smile.

"Happy Birthday Cam." Daniel said popping a party popper sending confetti everywhere.

"Thank you." I replied.

"Happy Birthday." Luke, Jai and Beau said in unison, giving me a hug each.

"18" James said smiling.

"Now should I ask what you were up too?" I asked smiling.

"We were trying to make you breakfast - pancakes with strawberries and chocolate sauce." Beau told me.

"But the batter went lumpy and they aren't cooking right." James explained.

"That's really sweet, thank you. But I'm happy with just the fruit." I replied smiling as I looked at the batter and the cooked pancakes the boys had tried to make.

"That's probably the safer option." Ronnie said as he tried to stir the batter.

"Why didn't you use a just add water mix?" I asked as I sat down.

"That would have been easier." Daniel replied.

"So Cam, anything you want to do today seeing as its your birthday?" Mariam asked.

"Nope." I replied popping the 'p'.

"You ok Cam?" Beau asked, sitting down next to me, with flour on his face.

"Yeah, I just don't feel like celebrating, that's all." I said quietly.

Beau's POV

"Yeah, I just don't feel like celebrating, that's all." Cam told me quietly.

"Come here." I said as I opened my arms to her, instead she shook her head at me.

"You have flour and who knows what else all over you. And I've just showered." Cam replied.

"You should see the floor in the kitchen." I replied laughing lightly.

"I'm going to go upstairs." Cam told me.

Luke's POV

"Did you get the candles?" I asked Jacob as he walked in to the kitchen after getting back with the groceries and Cam's cake and balloons.

"Yeah. The cake you ordered looks amazing." Jacob replied as he put the box down.

"Where is Cam?" Daniel asked as he walked in with a few bags of groceries.

"Mariam and Cam went shopping for a bit. Mariam thought she could use a distraction." Beau told us.

"What did she say to you this morning before she went upstairs?" Jai asked.

"Just that she didn't feel like celebrating today." Beau replied.

"If she doesn't feel like celebrating then why did we get all this stuff then?" Jacob asked.

"Cam's never liked to make a big deal of her birthday even since she was little but we always make sure she celebrates even if its small. That's why we get a bunch of takeaways and we got a cake." I explained.

"Why doesn't Cam like to celebrate her birthday? I mean I can understand this year but why previous years." Ronnie asked.

"She never has. I think its partly because she's the last birthday of all of us." Beau replied.

Mariam's POV

"That dress looks amazing Cam." I told her as she came out of the changing room.

"Thanks, I think I'm going to get it." Cam replied.

"I think you should." I replied as she walked back into the changing room.

"Mariam, what are the boys planning?" Cam asked from inside the changing room.

"They aren't planning anything that I know of." I lied just as Cam came out.

"Good. I love the boys but sometimes that don't take no for an answer." Cam replied as we walked to the counter to buy our items.

"Its only cause they love you." I replied.

"I know they do, its just hard sometimes. Can we go to Victoria's Secret?" Cam asked as we were handed our bags.

"Sure, I was just thinking I need to go there too." I replied as we walked out of the store, towards Victoria Secret.

Cam's POV

"I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow." Mariam said as we made our way back to the house in a cab.

"I know, its gone so fast." I replied.

"How are you feeling about it all though now that it is so close?" Mariam asked.

"I'm still scared but I also feel like its right. That sounds weird." I replied.

"I can understand that but you'll be fine. Just think of it as an adventure." She replied as we pulled up outside the house. I paid the driver and we gathered up our shopping before getting out.

"I start almost immediately; like I'll get off the plane and go straight to my apartment and probably get some food, and then the next day is orientation and I need to find a job, then the next day I start classes." I explained as we made our way down the drive.

"New York will be amazing though." Mariam stated as we walked through the door.

Jai's POV

"New York will be amazing though." I heard Mariam say as they made their way through the door.

"Hi boys." Cam and Mariam said in unison as they walked into the lounge, both with a few bags each.

"Hi, how was shopping?" I asked.

"Good. What about your afternoon?" Mariam asked.

"Good, we sorted a few things out." I replied simply.

"Is everyone cool with getting takeaway tonight?" Beau asked as he walked into the lounge.

"I don't mind." Cam replied.

"Sounds good." Mariam said.

"What did you get Cam?" Beau asked looking at the bags Cam had.

"Just a few bits of clothing." Cam replied.

"You bought that gorgeous dress too." Mariam stated.
