Chapter Three

The school day went by pretty fast. Doing nothing in every class, except Biology and practicing regents in Geometry (which was pretty fun because it was not graded and it was just chill), the day went like nothing. I waited for Alex outside the school. When I saw him walk towards me, my stomach started doing cartwheels and jumping.

“So you waited for me?” he asked smiling.

“Yeah. I mean we are going to the same place.” I responded.

“Did you pack?”

Dang. With all the time I had in the morning, I didn't even bother to pack, let alone start packing.

“I totally forgot. Can we stop at my place so I can start packing?”

He nodded. “Let’s get going. I’ll race ya.”

And then he started running. Little did he know, I’ve been practicing my running. We ran all the way to my house. And I won. About two feet in front of him. When I turned around, he had the most surprised look on his face while he ran. Then he partially tackled me on the grass.

And started to tickle me. Yup. Tickle me.

“I always win!” he said in a cheerful voice. He kept on tickling me until I couldn’t breathe.

“Wait...wait. What if your mom sees. Wouldn’t she say something?”

He shook his head. “Nah. She’s not home. She comes home late from work. My dad is on a business trip in Philadelphia, and my little sister Jacklyn is sleeping over at her friend’s house this whole week and weekend.”

For some reason, I had a reason it was my fault.

“Do you think it was because I was sleeping over?”

“I mean, my sister can talk a lot , and she’s pretty annoying in a good little sister way. My mom probably did it for a reason.”

I felt bad. They did this for me. A person they hardly met. I mean just because Alex’s mom is my mom’s best friend, I didn’t expect them to be so nice and prepared.

“Hey. Don’t get all worked up. Don’t feel bad for something you had no control over.”

“Thanks. Your advice lightens up my day.”

We looked at each other for a good minute until he said:

“You have to pack.”

Way to break the mood.

“Oh yeah.” I take the keys out my book bag, and open the door.

“Do you wanna come in? I don’t mind.”

He then entered my home. I threw my book bag next to the door, and ran upstairs. I got out my black and red splattered luggage and took a week full of clothes, my flats, and Skully. I took my comb and brush, but assumed they had grease, hairspray, and etc. I took my journal, something that was very dear to me,

“Is that all you’re taking?” Alex asked surprised.

“Um. Yea, What? Is that too much or too little?”

“No. It’s just...just right.”

I proceeded to my mini fridge and took my fruit punch soda. Then I went to the kitchen and took my stash of candy and junk food. Cheez-its and Oreos are life.

Alex laughed.

“What?” I said offendly. “A girl needs her food. Well...a girl like me I suppose.”

I grab my luggage and my stash, and Alex takes my book bag. We go to his house and Alex takes a key from below a rock in the garden.

“Is it safe to leave your key there?” I asked curiously. I mean there were a few rocks there. How did he know which one to take?

“Yeah. This rock has a special carving on it. You see,” He points to two letters on the rock. “It has my initials on it. AL. Alex Lewis.”

I nodded my head. He opened the door and then we entered the home.  His home was beautiful. Although it was almost like mine, it felt newer. I mean obviously because they just moved in. It had that “just moved it” feeling. He guided me upstairs.

“So is there a guest room to sleep in?” I asked.

“Nope.”

I stopped right in my tracks. “So I’ll be sleeping in your sister’s room?”

“Nope.” Alex said again. “You’ll be sleeping in my room. My sister’s room is a bit small for you.”

And from there I knew something was bound to happen during this week.

*Oh something is about to happen. But I guess you'll have to keep on reading....Vote and Comment. Peace and Love.*
