Chapter Eight
So my eyes weren't deceiving me. Mayah was conversing with Alexander. Last time I checked, she didn't want anything to do with Xavier's crew unless it was to beat the hell out of them.
"Mayah? Are you okay?" I asked her.
She shrugged her shoulders. "I feel fine. Why?"
I point to Alexander. "Oh. This dude? We cool now." She started to laugh. "I did punch him straight in his face. Something I've been wanted to do for awhile."
I looked at Alexander and saw the blue and purple mark on his right cheek. I smiled. Seeing it made me happy. I'm not a violent person...but then again I am.
"What made ya cool?" Alex asked. He had a look in his eye that made me think he was pleased about something.
"Well Alexander has been a pain ever since we met. Bullied each other mutually, hanging out with the boy that made my sister pissed. Always doing something. But...I guess he's maturing." Mayah shrugged. "So I forgave by punching the hell out of him. The least I can do."
Alex looked at the mark on his face, and then at Mayah. From the look in his eyes, I saw that he was scared of what Mayah can do. Who freaking wouldn't?! My girl can fight, plus Aimee and I. We sing, dance, and fight. The three things we can do to survive this world.
"Hold up. Y'all sisters?" Alexander asked surprised.
Mayah and I looked at each other.
"Yeah." I said.
"Same momma." Mayah said.
"Same daddy."
"Separated at birth."
"Long story." We both said at the same time. We started to laugh.
"So that's why y'all look alike. I've been wondering." Jacob asked.
"Wow. Aimee did you know?" Alex asked her.
She nodded her head. "Of course I did. I knew them since the womb. We all family. They're family by blood. But all three of us are family because of love."
By the looks on the guys faces, I see they were trying to comprehend everything we said. Jacob looked happy at what Aimee said. Alex looked like he was in deep thought. Alexander was all googly eyes at Mayah. Wait. What?
"I wish I can read what they're thinking." I thought to myself.
When I said that Alex face changed to a smirk on his face. Which was weird. Jacob looked surprised for a moment. Which was weird. And Alexander still got googly eyes. Which was weird.
Everything is weird.
"Why y'all so quiet?" Aimee asked.
"No reason." All three boys said.
"Lies." I coughed under my breath.
"SOPHOMORE CLASS. I HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYED THEIR DAY AT THE ZOO. WE'RE GONNA DO A QUICK COUNT, SO IF EVERYONE CAN STAY WHERE THEY ARE." Mr. Keith yelled.
I looked at Alex, and winked at him. I enjoyed my day all right. I hope he did too. He came towards me.
"I'm guessing you enjoyed your day." I nodded to his response.
I looked at our group. Aimee was blushing so hard at something Jacob whispered in her ear. I shook my head in shame, and smiled. Finally my girl was making her move. Then Mayah was sitting very close...very...close to Alexander. I was starting to wonder about that...
