chapter 8 closer and closer to forgiveness

It was a normal day for me. I was walking around outside of beacon. I heard a voice

?: I knew I'd find you here.

I looked to see my "mother".

Y/n: What do you want?

Raven: Can't a mother see her son?

Y/n: When the hell did you want to see any of your kids?

Raven: Y/n I'm sorry. When I learnt of you running away. I tried to make a portal to you. But I never got close enough to you to do it. I searched for you but was never able to find you.

Y/n: Probably for the best. I doubt my pop would let you take me without a fight. And I can tell you who I would have fought beside.

Raven: I know. Y/n. I know I don't deserve your forgiveness. So I won't ask you to forgive me. But I got you something. Something that might come in handy.

She pulled out a dagger and handed it to me.  I saw a button on the hilt.

Raven: If you hit the button it becomes a sword. I'm not going to ask you to use it. But please keep it.

Y/n: I will.

I put it at my side connecting the sheath to my armor.

Raven: Good luck Y/n. I fear you will need it for the future.

She opened a portal behind her.

Raven: Goodbye Y/n. Until we meet again my son.

She walked through the portal. I saw it close. I took the dagger out of its sheath and examined it.

Y/n: Thanks.

I walked back to Beacon. Immediately when I got there I was called to Ozpin's office.  I went up to his office. In there I saw him and Qrow.

Y/n: You wanted to see me sir?

Ozpin: Yes Y/n. Your letter has been delivered. And on my desk is one for you. There is also something I want to say.

I waited patiently.

Ozpin: Qrow delivered the letter. And on the way he met Rex and your friends. He also helped defend it from  a Grimm attack.

I looked at Qrow and he sheepishly looked at me.

Y/n: You did?

Qrow: Yeah kiddo. I did. I couldn't leave them alone. They mean so much to you. I ignored you once. And it took you away. I don't want to lose you again.

His words struck deep. I felt bad for hating what he did.

Y/n: I forgive you...uncle.

His face lit up.

Qrow: That's great kid. Look. I don't know how much this will help. But Yang and Tai. They regret the past. Give them a chance.

Y/n: I'll keep that in mind.

I grabbed my letter and went back to my dorm to read it.

After I read the letter Weiss texted me because she wanted to hang out. I went to pick her up. I knocked on the door. Weiss opened it up.

Y/n: Hey snowflake.

Weiss: Hi.

Ruby: Y/NNNNNN! *tackles y/n in a hug*

I hit the ground with a thud. I chuckled and patted Ruby on the head.

Weiss: Ruby what are you doing?

Ruby: I have years of hugs to make up for!

Y/n: That's greats rubes. But next time try not to tackle me.

Ruby: Okay.

She got off of me and I got up.

Y/n: Okay. Ready to head out Weiss?

Weiss: Yeah. Let's head to your dorm. 

We went to my dorm. On the way I saw Cardin picking on a faunus.

Y/n: Just a second snowflake. *kisses her cheek*

I walked behind Cardin and tapped his shoulder.

Cardin: Can't you see I'm busy?

Y/n: Your rear will be busy when I have my foot so far up it my knee will stop the rest of my leg from going in there.

Cardin noticed now it was me.

Cardin scared: Oh crap.

Y/n: Now turn around.

He turned to look at me.

Y/n: Haven't you learned yet?

He was shaking in his boots.

Y/n: Now. Your luck is good in terms of me being busy. But remember what I said. Don't push it.  Now. Scram!

Cardin ran away.

Faunus: Thank you.

Y/n: No problem. He does this again find me.

Faunus: I will.

The faunus walked away.  Weiss walked up to me.

Weiss: That was brave.

Y/n: Don't need much bravery to fight a coward. Cowards suffer a thousand deaths while a brave man suffers one.

Weiss: Enough of that. Come on. We're supposed to be spending time together.

Y/n: Okay snowflake.

We walked to my dorm room. We went in and sat down on my bed talking about whatever came to mind.  After a while we decided to just lay down and cuddle.  I laid there stroking Weiss's hair lovingly.  I thought about my life now.

I looked at Weiss who was smiling with her eyes closed.

Y/n in head: No matter what. I will always protect Weiss. If she goes into a war. I'll follow her. Until I can't stand up I'll keep her safe.
