"Hey Coach Baker" a lady said
Lyla turned around and she said "Yes."
"Hi I'm Ms Carter. Um do you have a second." Ms Carter said
"Yes." She said
"One of your cheerleaders has been slacking off in my class it's Marisol Bartley." Ms Carter said
'Oh okay. I'll look into it." she said
"Okay." she said
She headed down to her office and logged on to the cheerleader's file and pulled up her grades and wrote them down. She logged out and then saw Bucky' was in his office. "Can I help you." he said
"Got a minute." she said
She laid the sticky note on his lap top and he sighed. "Call her teachers and her parents let's set up a meeting."
She sent out an email and contacted her parents and the next morning they all went into the meeting and they all discussed the best course action was academic probation. A few days later a cheerleader came into her office before school started and she said "Coach Baker."
"Yeah." she said as she looked up and saw one of her cheerleaders with a black eye and a busted lip and "Sasha? Honey what the hell happened?' as she got up and shut both doors.
She made her sit down and she said "I um I I went to a party over the weekend at Parker Samuels house um his brother Peyton Samuels was there and he raped me. And I'm scared Coach Baker.. I've been to scared to say anything and I didn't go to the ER."
"Okay shh it's okay." she said as she hugged her.
"What if I got pregnant Coach Baker." Sasha started to cry.
"Shhh listen to me sweetheart. If you are promise me that you will not do abortion if you would rather do adoption that's fine. But that baby doesn't deserve to lose it's life cause some idiot couldn't take no for answer." Lyla said
"Yes ma'am." Sasha said
"Now right now I want you to go to class and I'm going to talk to Coach Barnes we will get to the bottom of this" she said
"Okay." Sasha said
Sasha left and she went into Bucky's office and slammed the door.
"Well good morning to you too Lyla." he said as he sat his coffee down.
"Peyton Samuels. Football or Basketball?' she said
"Both.. why?' he said
"Cause he raped and beaten one of my cheerleaders over the weekend." she said
"Oh that explains the door slam. Okay um give me a minute to get Rogers to cover my class." he said
He got Steve cover his class and she got Nat to cover hers and she had Sasha come back to her office and Bucky came in and she pulled her hoodie down. Bucky swallowed hard and used Lyla's office phone and called down to the front office and said "Yes this is James Barnes I need you to pull Peyton Samuels from his class and contact his parents and let them know that they need to come in as well."
Lyla had the school nurse come and take pictures and make sure nothing was broken. They went to the conference room with Fury in tow. Peyton was sitting there and he said "Coach what is this about."
"You are being arrested Peyton.." Bucky said as the police came in.
Sasha came in as well with her dad. Mr Samuels said " Peyton did you do that to that girl."
"I um I .." he said
They all looked at him and looked down and he said "Yes. But I was drunk and I didn't mean to."
The officers arrested him and Lyla said "Sasha please go join the other athletes in the gym."
They went into the gym and they were all talking and she took a deep breathe.
"SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP AND LISTEN" she yelled.
"Damn darlin" Bucky whispered
"I want you boys to understand something. When a girl tells you no she means no not different if the roles were reversed and a girl wouldn't take no for an answer it means no ladies. I better never have another one of my cheerleaders or any other female athlete come into my office again with bruises telling me that she was raped. Cheerleaders aren't prizes or piece of properties we are people with feelings and insecurities and we bust our asses off for you boys to keep the crowd going during your games so started treating them with respect." Lyla said
Bucky said "Boys if I have another player arrested like I did today you bet your ass I will pull the whole damn team this doesn't fly with me either."
"Yes sir" the all said
"Get to class.." Lyla said
She walked back to her office and gathered up her papers for her class and Bucky came in and said "Lyla"
"Yeah.." she said
"Forgive me for this." he said then he grabbed her cheeks and kissed her and she started to kiss back and she whispered "James you don't want to do this."
"Oh darlin that's where you are wrong." he whispered.
"But James I can't." she said
"Baby let me show you please just give me a chance to show you that not all the guys are bad." he said.
She looked down and said "James I'm scared"
"Baby don't be. I swear all I want is a chance with you." he said
She bit her lip and he whispered "Just one chance baby."
"I um.." She said
"You are running out of excuses baby of why you can't do this." he said
"But I have two daughters." she said
"I know and they are absolutely adorable." he said "So dinner with me on Saturday mom can watch the girls." he added.
She bit her lip and said 'Okay.."
"Good now we better get to class." he said
They headed to their classrooms.
