I felt so bad for yelling at Peter, but he understood. I showed him the text and he called Gen right away, giving her a piece of his mind. I love Peter and no one can change that, not Gen or even Peter. Gen left town two days ago(thank god)! Today is Saturday so we're both off today. Peter's mom broke her ankle last week she had some complications during foot surgery, so she still can't walk. Peter and I volunteered to help work at her store on Saturdays til she gets better. Peter's mom still hates when I come to the store, but I guess she doesn't care now that she can't really do anything about it. We're on our way to the store now. Peter's mom's store is small and there are only two or three full-time employees. The normal employees have the day off today so it's just me and Peter. When we get there the store is cold, dark and quiet. A tiny old lady is our first customer of the day. "Hello! Welcome!" I say when she walks in. I'm at the register and Peter's in the back do something, like moving furniture. "Good morning dearie, I'm here to pick up a few things. The lady who was here last week said she'd hold my things in a box for me."
"Yes, let me go check." I didn't want to scare her by calling for Peter to get the box, because she seemed very old and I could tell her hearing was messed up. I hurry into the storage room, "Peter this lady said that your mom has a box of things she wants to buy" I say looking around for it. "Uh.. my mom didn't say anything about a box of stuff," he finishes loading someone's car. I find the box and go back into the store. "Here you are ma'am, that will be $7.00" as she hands me the money she eyes my ring. "How much is the ring?" She asks. I'm quick to speak, "It's not for sale," She looks around, then names a price. "Ma'am it's not for sale." I say. And she seems to ignore me right when Peter walk over to me. "Is there a problem?" He asks the lady. "Yes, I would like to buy that ring." She says, again, "She already told you it's not for sale." He reminds her. She offers a price. I can tell Peter's getting a bit angry. I mean who asks to buy someone's wedding ring? When there wearing it? The next thing she says really pisses him off. "Well, I don't see her husband anywhere. So..." I think she has a mental problem at this point. "I am her husband lady. Now, would you like to leave or... do you want me to pick you up and set you outside?" He says raising his voice.
"You wouldn't dare" she glares at him. "Watch me" Now I know for sure if she says another word... in fact the lady mumbles "f you" before she leaves. The rest of the day, we had no problems. On the way home we stoped by my house. My dad was on shift, so Kitty was home alone. "Hey Kitty!" We call as we go inside. Kitty's in the kitchen making herself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "PETER!! LJ!!" She runs over and hugs us both. "Hey Kitten!" Peter says. Kitty's smile falls, as someone calls her name from downstairs. "Kathrine?" I don't recognize his voice, but I know exactly what there doing. A tall, young, handsome guy walks out of her room in a towel. "Kitty? Is this your sister? And her..." he pauses. "I'm gonna go get dressed." He runs back in the bedroom, Kitty's bedroom. "Explain Kitty!!" Peter yells. "Peter, let me talk to her, you go make sure 'he' leaves," I say, walking over to the couch. Kitty sits next to me. I don't say anything for a moment. "What the hell do you thing your doing?? Who is he??" I ask. Kitty takes a while to answer, "His name is Ayden, and we were having sex." I know what she was doing... I just can't believe she's so grown up. "I know what you were doing." I say getting up. "Peter and I are leaving. Sorry for 'walking in' next time we'll call. Make sure Ayden leaves before daddy comes home." I say, sincerely. I go upstairs to get Peter. I hear him yelling at Ayden. "WHAT THE FUCK??" I knock on the door. "Peter, let's go." I wait a few moments before knocking again. Peter comes out, his face is red. He closes the door behind him. When we leave he doesn't say anything to Kitty. I tell Kitty again to be careful and we leave. That was a pit-stop we'll never forget. In the car Peter's still mad. "What do you think about Ayden?" I ask Peter. "I think he's going to get his ass kicked if I catch him doing 'it' with Kitty again" I frown, "Not what I meant." I say, the rest of the ride is quiet. I text daddy later, and tell him all. He says he'll talk to Kitty and Ayden too. I remember in high school, although me and Peter never did it until now, one time daddy caught Peter sneaking in my window. I never heard the end of that one. I felt bad for Peter, but I feel worse for Ayden. When it comes to sex for us, we have no problems there. Thursday night was my first time, it obviously it wasn't his first time, but I didn't care. I'm so glad that we waited, even though Peter might not have been thrilled, It worked out the way it did. In my defense, a couple of years ago at Beach Week we were about to have sex, but then he backed out.
