Chloe was getting herself ready looking at her reflection in the pond, making Madeline roll her eyes. "Can you focus. They will be passing by soon!" She hissed. Chloe glared at her.
"I'm trying to make myself even more beautiful, thought that's not very possible, I'm perfect!" She said. Dustin groaned.
"Is it possible that you've become more conceded than when you were a shadow." He said.
"Haha. Just get ready, I'm done!" She smiled putting her good up. The two rolled their eyes creating fake shadows that appeared to be attacking her. "HELP! OH SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!" She screamed like a damsel in distress.
Jake, Jeremy, and Rich continued on the path hoping to reach the shadow kingdom by dusk until they heard a cry.
"Huh? That sounds like someone who needs help!" Rich said.
"Come on let's go!" Jeremy said as the three of them rode to find the source of the screaming. They looked around until they heard it again. "There!" He pointed to the cloaked being being attacked by shadows. the three leaped into action fending off the beasts as they disappeared. Jeremy turned to the woman. "Are you alright Ma'am?" He asked her helping her up. Rich rolled his eyes.
"She can get up herself..." He mumbled quietly. The woman quietly giggled thanking Jeremy for saving her.
"Oh thank you brave knights~ How ever can I thank you~" She said
"No need ma'am just being us." Jeremy said.
"Oh but I insist! Hmm...Oh I know! I know the most lovely song I can sing you" She smiled.
"That's alright ma'am, we really must-" Jake said as she started to sing. He was too late to realize what that song was before falling under her spell as did the other two. She laughed before snapping her fingers the three fell to the ground kneeling to her.
"We are at your command Queen Valentine." They said monotone. She laughed as Dustin and Madeleine appeared.
"Good Job Chloe." Dustin said.
"Now my Pets~ Follow me." She said as they got up following her farther away towards a cliff she looked to her three mindless puppets. "Keep walking. Until I stop you~" She smiled as they continued to walk getting closer and closer to the cliffs edge. The three laughed until an arrow whizzed by scratching Chloe's arm. "OW WHAT THE HELL?!" She screamed.
"Why are you screaming valentine? Your still a shadow normal weapons can't hurt...you..." Madeline said before seeing her arm was bleeding. "What the hell...that's not possible!"
"Chloe keep singing." Dustin told her so they could find whoever was attacking her and rip them apart. Another arrow shot past them going through her throat as her song and her grip on them came to a screeching halt. The three snapped out of their hypnosis as Chloe turned back into a shadow growling. The three heroes stopped at the cliffs edge looking to the shadows angrily seeing how they were tricked by them. Chloe growled even more.
"WHO IS DOING THIS?!" She screamed as a hooded figure appeared in front of the three shadows.
"Me." She said drawing another arrow as the three heroes behind her drew their weapons. The hooded figure immediately went to attack Chloe as the others started to try and fight Dustin and Madeline.
"Do you honestly think your weapons will work on US?! Shadows can't be hurt with normal weapons you idiots!" Dustin laughed attack Jeremy and Rich while Madeline attacked Jake. Madeline stabbed Jake in the abdomen as he still continued to fight her, he couldn't give up, the queens and the prince were counting on him! Dustin blew Jeremy and rich away from him as Rich got knocked off the cliff hanging on for dear life.
"H-HELP!" He cried Jeremy saw him he ran over to him.
"IVE GOT YOU!" He said pulling him up their faces very close to each other as they blushed deeply forgetting that Dustin was still attacking them he slashed their arms throwing them into a tree.
The hooded figure continued trying to fight Chloe hitting her in many places aiming for her heart. She saw the three heroes struggling and threw them all one arrow to fight against the shadows with.
"USE THEM!" She said to them as the grabber the arrows heeding them the best they could attacking the shadows.
"What the heck are these things made of..." Jake said as he slashed Madeline's arm making her scream. Dustin hovered over Rich growling as Jeremy tried stabbing his eye making him hit his cheek instead as Rich stabbed his leg making him stumble back. Chloe was at her breaking point and used her powers to shoot her off the cliff making her dangle.
"Whoa!" She said worried trying to get back up as Chloe stood above her destroying her bow. Jake saw her in danger and used his arrow to hit her arm.
"LETS GET OUT OF HERE!" Dustin yelled holding his face in pain as Madeline held her arm. Chloe went to them and disappeared into the shadows with them. Jeremy and Rich passed out falling to the ground from the beating they got at the beginning of that fight as Jake helped the hooded figure up panting heavily.
"Thank...thank you for helping us..." Jake said holding his abdomen as it bleed.
"It was nothing. Saving you was a bonus, my goal was killing Queen Valentine." She said to him.
"Wh-why?"
"She's the reason I'm like this." She said pulling her hood down showing her face was half shadow but half pure? An impossibility but here she was. A hybrid of a Shadow, and a Pure Light. But how was that possible? A pure light is only someone who dies in light of Purity glass and even then it's rare, so how was she both? And not falling apart for that matter?! "She made me this and she killed my fiancée." She said solemnly to him.
"Who are you..." He said panting feeling himself on the verge of fainting due to blood loss.
"...it's not important who I am." She said to him pulling her hood up as he fell to the ground unconscious as well. She looked to them rolling her eyes as she started to walk away until three little lights stopped her.
"Brooke! What are you doing?! We can't leave them like that!" The Pastel yellow light said.
"What do you expect me to do." She said to the light.
"M-maybe take them w-with us?" The light blue light stuttered.
"What?! Hell no! That would mean revealing your location. I'm not doing that."
"Brookie...please...for me~" the light purple light said kissing her cheek. She sighed.
"Only for you. Help me get them up." She said annoyed getting Jake up. The three lights suddenly started to make them float as they went deeper into the woods as they disappeared with the three injured heroes.
