The early morning's glow cannot compare
To the bottomless joy that filled my heart
On that first fateful day I saw you there,
I knew that I'd been struck by Cupid's dart.
At sight of you my troubled soul reveled
A new burning hunger in me awoke
And solved the problems that once bedeviled
I was stayed from cracking beneath life's yoke.
Once thou were drawn outside thy fragile shell
With many jokes that were much too cheesy
You laid your heart out with secrets to tell
So quickly that it seemed over easy.
Our affection burned bright like a comet,
All because you were part of my omelet.
