Serena's POV
Today was the best day ever. I never been to a fair before. Earlier today, Melody, Del, and I, along with Jake, Embry and Paul went to the fair in Spokane. I guess it was a group date, although Paul and I went as friends.
My sisters and I have never been to a human fair before. We rode many rides, ate fair food. My favorite would have to be the candy caramel apples. Mel liked the cotton candy, and Del liked the funnel cake with powdered sugar on top. The guys mostly just ate everything they could get their hands on.
We even played some games. Embry played the basketball game for Del and got her a cute stuffed penguin. Jake played the ring toss for Mel and got her a cute plush-stuffed kitty. And Paul did the bottle game, were he had to throw a baseball at a stack of bottles. Thanks to his werewolf strength, he knock all the bottles down and got me a cute stuffed panda bear.
We all had such a fun time together, and I never had so much fun with a boy before. Paul was my best friend, but through everything we've been together, the battle, his funny jokes he makes to make me laugh. Him keeping me warm at the bonfires, I've started to develop feelings for him. But I know that I can't tell him how I feel because I'm not his imprint. I don't want to end up like Sam and Leah. My mate is out there somewhere, but it's hard to let go my feelings for Paul.
"Serena?" I snapped out of my deep thinking and saw that Paul had his hand on my shoulder. I saw that we arrived at La Push beach around sunset. Whoa, I must have really dosed off. "Oh, thanks for snapping me out of my thoughts Paul."
He smiled and helped me out of his truck. We caught up with the others on the beach. Jake and Embry had laid out blankets on the sand for us to lay down on. Right now I'm sitting with my legs folded across each other, I felt Paul come up behind me, and he wrapped an arm around me when I got a chill from a cold breeze.
I felt my insides flip. Should I tell Paul how I feel? I'm worried if I do, then it'll ruin our friendship, but if I don't tell him I might not move on, even if and when I find my mate. I think I should tell him.
Third Person's POV
Just as Serena had opened her mouth to tell Paul how she really felt about him, A voice called out to Jake. The group turned and saw a beautiful Quileute girl, coming towards them. Jake knew who it was right away. His big sister Rachel. Jake got up from his spot and ran over to greet his sister, with his friends behind him. When he got close to his sister he picked her up off the ground and spun them around. "Rach I can't believe you're here." She laughed at her baby brother, that wasn't as little as she remembered.
"I know Jake. I finished college early, and well I decided to come back home and see you and dad. When I got to the house, dad was there but you weren't. He told me you were on a group date with your girlfriend, her sisters and some of friends. I decided to kill some time and came to the beach. I was reminiscing about mom bringing us here when we were little." She paused and looked at the three girls. She saw that they were all so pretty, like unbelievably beautiful. "So, which one of you girls is dating my goofy baby brother?"
Melody's POV
I gulped and raised my hand, being very shy about it. I remember Jake telling me about his sisters, Rebecca moved to Hawaii to be with a surfer and Rachel went to college, but she didn't go so far like Rebecca did. He's showed me pictures of them and they were pretty. But now that she's in front of me, she's even prettier in front of me. "Hi. I'm Melody Triton and these are my sisters, Delphina and Serena. It's so nice to meet you Rachel." She just smiled at me and hugged me close to her.
She let me go and said hello to my sisters, then she turned to Embry and Paul. "Sis, this is my best friend Embry Call, He used to play with me all the time when I was little along with Quil Ateara. Embry's dating Delphina. And this guy next to Serena is my other friend Paul Lahote."
