Serena's POV

It's been a month since Emily and Sam's wedding. And Benjamin and I have been dating since the day he stayed with me. He has gotten use to drinking animal blood and has better control with his thirst. We go on dates at the beach almost all the time. I showed him my mermaid form on our first date and he said that I was the most beautiful mermaid in all the world.

Right now we are on the beach, sitting on a picnic blanket, I was enjoying the food that Esme made for me. Alice got me into a really pretty flower pattern dress, and she said I should leave my curly hair down. Benjamin loved my hair down. I had a feeling she knew something she wasn't telling me. I realized that Benjamin hasn't said that much since we got here. I mean he has shown me so much affection today, I wasn't complaining or anything. I loved it when he showered me with kisses and flowers.

"Benjamin are you okay? You've been very quiet since we got here." I watched him as he took a deep breath and he stood up and he motioned for me to stand too. When I stood up, he took both my hands into his and he stared down at me, with so much love in his eyes.

"Serena Triton, We've been together since we faced the Volturi together. You brought so much happiness into my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. You are my light, my love and I must ask you this very important question."

What happened next, I felt my jaw drop as he got down on one knee and he pulled a ring from his back pocket. "This was my mother's ring. She wanted me to have it and to give it to the girl I planned to marry. So, will you Serena Triton, do me the honor of becoming my bride?"

I was crying. But it was happy tears. I smiled and laughed with happiness. "YES! Yes I will marry you, Benjamin!" He smiled back and put the ring on my left ring finger. He stood and he picked me up into his arms and spun us around.

I'm engaged to the man of my dreams! I can't believe it. This was without a doubt, the happiest moment in my entire life.

Once my feet were on the ground, he kissed my lips instantly and I kissed him back. This moment was perfect. After about five minutes of kissing my fiancé, we pulled away and I couldn't stop smiling. Then a thought came to me, "Benjamin, did Alice see you propose to me? Is that why she got me all dressed up for our date?"

He sheepishly smiled and said, "Yes she did see. I asked her to try to be discreet, but you know Alice." I laughed and said, "Yeah, she's probably planning our wedding right now as we speak." We laughed and I just gazed up into his eyes. "I love you Benjamin." "I love you too, Serena."

Everything was perfect. I knew that I was going to spend eternity with the man I loved. My mate, my life, my soon to be husband.

I had a feeling our future was going to be bright.
