Shawn's POV
As soon as I stepped out on that stage, I saw it out of the corner of my eye. I thought I imagined it at first, but when I turned around, sure enough, it was there. The color yellow.
Her POV
"It's not gonna work," Kelli, my best friend told me as we walked to our spots in line for Shawn Mendes Concert.
"It's fine if it doesn't, but I can't not give it a try at least. I mean, he did say it was how to get noticed," I tell her back, shrugging my shoulders as I answer.
"Just because you wear yellow does not mean that THE Shawn Mendes is going to notice you all the way where we are," Kelli tried to "reason" with me.
"I understand, but I can always try. Who knows? Maybe he'll notice me and we'll end up getting married. You'll be my maid of honor, of course and you'll tell the story of how we first met- all because I wore yellow to one of his concerts," I tell her, dramatically acting out my future as we keep walking.
"As long as I'm your maid of honor, I'll do whatever," she says as she laughs.

Shawn's POV
I step off the stage, sweaty as always and absolutely exhausted. But, I can't seem to get it out of my head. There was one spot of yellow. One person wore it. They wore yellow. I hand my mic and guitar over to my team and go to find my trusted security guard before I back out.
"Insane show, as always," he greets me with, smiling.
"Upper deck, on the left, if you're looking from the stage. Someone wearing yellow. Find them and bring them to me. Do whatever it takes, thank you so much!" I tell him, focusing on what I just did.
"You got it," he tells me, sounding a bit confused as I walk away.
What did I just do? Guess we'll find out in a bit, then.

Her POV
"I can't believe that just happened!" Kelli exclaims, verbalizing my exact thoughts.
"Is it horrible if I'm really sad that it's over?" I ask her.
"Well, that would mean I'm horrible too, so no, it's not-"
"Excuse me, ma'am?" A voice comes from behind us. I turn around and met with one of the security guards.
"Yes?" I ask calmly. I didn't do anything, so I don't know what this is.
"I need you to come with me," he tells
me.
"Excuse me?" I'm confused. "I didn't do anything wrong..." I look over at Kelli and she's just as confused as me.
"Oh Nonono. Nothing about that, someone just wants to talk to you. I'm guessing this is your friend?" I nod in response. "She is welcome to come as well," he finishes and looks at me with nervous anticipation.
I look at Kelli, who shrugs. I turn back around and take a deep breath before answering, "Well, I guess lead the way then."
"Right this way," he tells me with a smile before walking. He immediately takes a left, and goes through a side door. He leads us down stairs, up hallways and through rooms. After five minutes, I thought I might die. Then, we turned the corner and we were backstage. Kelli and I immediately exchanged confused but elated faces.
"This is where I stop. Your name?" He asks looking at me.
"Stephanie," I answer.
"Stephanie, you can go through this door, I'm gonna have to ask your friend to wait here for a little while," he tells me. I look at Kelli. She gives me a thumbs-up, perfectly fine with her view.
"Okay..." I nervously agree. He opens the door for me and I walk in. Nothing happens.
"I'm gonna die, aren't I?" I say.
"I don't plan on letting that happen," a voice answers me and I jump, giving out a little scream. "Sorry, I didn't really know what to do."
Wait. I know that voice.
I turn around to see who the voice belongs to. I breathe out and almost pass out as I ask,
"Shawn Mendes?"
Shawn's POV
"That's me," I reply. "I guess I don't have the pleasure of knowing your name, though. I take a step forward and she's frozen. Looking at me with a confused face.
"Stephanie. Stephanie Little," she replies, sticking out her hand for a hand shake. I laugh lightly as I give her one, her face never changing from confused wonderer.
"You seem confused," I put it out there. She laughs.
"Confused is an understatement. Here I am, in Shawn Mendes' dressing room after a Shawn Mendes concert." She starts pacing back and forth. "I just shook hands with Shawn, which of whom I thought I'd never get close enough to be able to see without the help of a camera and giant screen. I drove five hours to come to be able to listen to one of the most talented voices sing while my best friend and I dance stupidly from our seats. Which I thought I might die every time I stood up because it was so steep." She stops pacing and walks up to me, looking me right in the eyes. "The weirdest part is I have no idea why I'm here or why you chose me. I'm just a girl, enjoying life, just like every other person in that gargantuan stadium. I'm not special. I can't really sing that well. I don't play any instrument. I sure as hell don't have as much money as I would like to be able to go to another concert. So, Shawn, why am I here?" She takes a deep breath as she finishes. This is when I notice just how close we are to each other. I guess I subconsciously leaned into her as she was talking. She's not moving. She's standing her ground after her rant. I can't help but smile. This girl just met me and she has enough brain power to rant a whole paragraph and use words like "understatement" and "gargantuan." She has a personality and meeting me didn't change it at all.
"Yellow," is all I respond with.
"Yellow? What do you mean yellow? I just said all of that and all you give me is yell- oh," she pause slightly in between the last two words.
"Oh! Wait, are you serious?!" I nod, and she laughs. "This is amazing! Kelli! Get in here!" She yells, for her friend? A girl opens the door automatically and starts talking.
"What's going on Step? I was enjoying this amazing view of- Shawn? Shawn Mendes?" She stops herself.
"Yeahyeahyeah. Guess why I'm here?" She asks her friend. It's like I'm not even here right now.
"Step! You do realize he's right there!"
"Yes! Okay! If you could stop fangirling for two seconds, I would be able to tell you that I'm here because I wore yellow!" It stops her friend.
"Are you kidding? Is she for real?" Oh I exist again.
"Yep, it's true." They turn to each other.
"Wow. I did not think this was real. I can't believe it worked," her friend tells Stephanie. Which is the exact moment Stephanie's face gets all red. It's actually cute.
Her POV
I have been ignoring him. What am I doing?
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. Wow. Okay. I'm Stephanie, you know that, and this is my best friend, Kelli," I introduce her.
"Hi, Kelli, I'm Shawn," he smiles as she gives him a hug.
"Hi Kelli. Hi Stephanie. It's great to meet you both. I hope that we can get to know each other a bit more," he says it almost shyly. Is he nervous? It this normal? This is not. Not normal.
I smile, "I would really love that."
