Concert

The lights go down, signaling the end of the concert. I can't believe this happened. Wow. It truly was amazing. Which is when I realized I had to pee... REAL bad. I won't be able to hold it in for much longer if I don't go. I sigh, lean over to my friend that I came with and tell her I have to pee. She looks at me like, "are you sure?" I nod, and she waves me off, telling me she'll wait for me in the car.I smile and then make my way out of the crowd and towards the back door.
I get out of the big arena area and take a deep breath; I felt like I could breathe again. I look around for signs to the bathroom. I don't see any. Crap. If I can't find a bathroom in a few minutes, I'm going to make my friend start to worry.
I start walking around, seeing a small hallway. Of course the bathroom is in here. I walk, almost to the end, when something hits me from behind and I start to fall forward. I hear mumbling of voices and it kind of scares me. I open the door at the end of the hall, quickly shutting it behind me. I wait until I can't hear the voices anymore. That's when I realize it's really dark in here. I get up, and lights turn on with me. Well, there was a bathroom sign, so I just keep walking.
I feel like I'm going into Narnia when all of a sudden, I bump into someone.
"I'm so sorry," I hear... from a low voice. What? Where am I? I thought this was the girls bathroom?
"Wait, wher-" I start to ask, but something hits the other person and they fall towards me. It makes me trip on something, and I can feel something wrapping around my legs. The other person and I start turning in circles, wrapping our legs together, us both not being smart. It was much lighter where we were going. I thought it was almost done, but then I trip over something completely, falling backwards. A sudden bath in light, I can finally see who I'm wrapped up with. I blink a couple of times, not believing who was currently wrapped up in different cords with me, and also currently on top of me, the only thing not making us touch was his arms holding him up on either side of my head.
I almost don't hear it I'm so confused. The screams. I look to my left. The crowd from the concert. I look back at him and I know we're screwed.
Shawn Mendes and I just fell onto the stage wrapped up together.
The lights all go out, plunging us into darkness. Which is when I hear his voice for the first time. His mouth is right next to my ear, so I can hear him over the screaming of the crowd.
"Are you okay?"
Am I okay? Am I okay?
"Shouldn't you be freaking out right now?" I ask him, the reality of the situation hitting me.
"Yes, actually, but we both tumbled down quite a long ways, so I'm gonna make sure you're good," he tells me, his mouth still next to my ear. Oh my gosh. He's right next to my ear. I suddenly feel very hot. Shawn Mendes is on top of me. Oh my... holy...
"I think I'm gonna pass out," I whisper.
••••••••••
I wake up I don't know how much longer, laying on a couch. I rub my eyes, very confused as to what happened in the past I don't know how many hours? Did I dream all of that? No. No. I know I didn't because I really did have tickets to a Shawn Mendes concert. I know I did.
"Wait, so where am I?"
"You're in my dressing room," a voice says. I turn around and see Shawn Mendes on the couch across from me, sweaty and adorable from his performance.
"Okay... what is going on?" I mutter, more confused than ever.
"You fainted," he tells me, smiling shyly towards the ground.
"I did?"
"Yeah, and right before you did, you told me you thought you were going to."
"Yeah! I did say that!" I start to remember. "Oh my gosh. We were on stage..." I feel my cheeks start to brighten.
"We were..." he mumbles.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened," I start to say, sitting up, but start to feel woozy.
"Hey hey hey," Shawn gets up from where he was sitting and comes to sit next to me. "You should not be up. Lay back down," he tells me politely. I look at him a little confused. He was sitting where I was laying down a few seconds ago. He gives me a confused look and then it clicks.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not leaving until you feel all better," he says, grabbing a pillow, putting it on his lap, and then patting it.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" I ask.
"Later," he says, then pats the couch again. I lay down, not arguing. I mean, why would I?
"Oh my gosh! Ellie!" I sit up again, regretting it for the second time.
"Wow! Who's Ellie?" Shawn asks, shifting towards me.
"She's my friend I came here with. I left to go to the bathroom and she went to wait in the car. She'll be worried sick about me!" I start to fumble around. I don't know where my phone is. "Where's my phone?" I ask, super nervous. Ellie is probably calling the crap out of it.
"I have... no idea. Do you know her number by heart?" Shawn asks, getting up.
"Yep, But I don't know what good that's gonna be if I don't have a phone-" I stop as Shawn pulls out a phone from his back pocket.
"Use mine," he says. When I don't take it, he grabs my hand and we both stop. He looks at me, and our eyes meet.
It breaks and he puts the phone in my hand.
"But, Shawn," I start to protest.
"No buts. Your friend is gonna be worried about you and we don't know where your phone is. Hopefully she'll still answer even though it's a new number." I can't believe he's about to let me use his own phone to call her. She's going to have his number. I'm about to use his phone.
"You have no idea who I am. I am a total stranger. Why are you so willing to give me your phone?" I ask him, genuinely curious.
"You're right. I don't actually know you, but from the half hour we've been together, I know you're cool. And, if my sister told me she was going somewhere quick, but then didn't show up, I would be worried sick about her. And I'm feeling like this friend of yours is doing the exact same. Please, call her." I can't help but smile. He's so genuine. How could anyone ever not like him? I follow what he asks and type in the number. She picks up after a couple rings.
"Hello. Who is this?" She answers, weary.
"Hi Ellie!"
"Amanda! Are you kidding me? Where are you? I've been calling you and calling you. Where did you go? Whose phone is this? What happened? Why were you on stage?" All of her questions come rushing out and she only stops to breathe.
"Ells, I'm perfectly fine, I promise. I'm still in the arena. Someone who wanted to help. I passed out and that's a long story," I try to answer all her questions.
"Amanda, you can't just scare me like that! Where's your phone? Why aren't you calling from it? I almost didn't answer this call cause I don't want to miss a call from you on accident."
"I know I know. I'm sorry."
"Wait," she cuts me off. "Did you say you passed out?"
"Yeah... that's a long story... for another day," I tell her. I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Shawn, motioning something. I shake my head, telling him I don't know what he's saying. He gives up and takes the phone from me. My eyes go wide.
"Ellie, did she say your name was?" A slight pause. "Good good. Hi, I'm Shawn... yes, that Shawn. And your friend here is pretty cool. She bumped into me earlier... yes actually literally she bumped into me. Well, she passed out and then she's been hanging with me since she woke up. And I don't know if I should allow her out yet, so I was wondering if you wanted to come back inside and make sure she's okay for your own eyes... perfect! I'll see you soon!" He finishes and hangs up.
Shawn Mendes just invited my friend to come meet him... in his dressing room... where I currently was.
"What just happened?" I ask, mouth opened.
"Ellie and I are gonna meet. You cool with that?" I smile and nod.
This is happening? What?
••••••••••
"It was really nice meeting you, Ellie," Shawn tells her a few hours later as we make our way out finally.
"Are you kidding me? You're amazing!" Ellie laughs and they hug before she turns to me. "I'm actually going to wait in the car. Don't be another half hour," and then leaves.
Shawn turns to me, smiling. I smile back up at him, not being able to help it.
"So, Amanda Lily Stevens, the girl who loves cheese and meat, but hates cheeseburgers-"
"I was just telling you the truth!" I "defend" myself.
"I'm just glad I got to know a little about the girl who tackled me down until we fell onto the stage." I open my mouth to say something, but don't. Instead, I smile.
"Shawn Peter Raul Mendes, the boy who is kind, caring, careful, generous beyond compare, and makes girls faint-"
"That was... I'm sorry," he smiles lightly as he blushes.
"Don't be. It's not your fault. Plus, it got me to be able to meet you. Genuinely meet you. Thank you for everything that you did. And thank you for letting me see the behind the scenes you. I will forever be grateful to you for tonight. I have made so many memories that I will never forget. Enough to last a lifetime, Shawn," I smile up at him and turn away when I can feel my eyes start to water. I don't want to leave. This has been the best night of my life.
I start to walk out of the door and down the hallway, trying not to let the tears fall. I'm never going to see that man again in my life. He'll forget about me in a month, maybe two, six at tops. He'll go back to his crazy schedule of show after show. That's when the tears fall. I feel the salt in my mouth.
"Amanda, wait," I hear his calming voice behind me. I turn around, trying to not get any hopes up.
"Shawn?"
"I don't want that to be our first goodbye."
"First?" I ask as he finally gets to me. He looks at me, our eyes locking. He gently wipes away the tears that escaped and smiles at me, his hands resting on both sides of my face.
"I like you. I know we've only known each other for a few hours, but they've been some of the best in quite a while. You have my phone number- at least your friend does. I don't want you to just leave," he's getting closer to me. I can feel his breath on my face now.
"Amanda, allow me one more thing," he whispers.
I respond by smiling, which is the only signal he needs. He leans in and I can feel my heartbeat start to go off, speeding up like it's racing to win the Indy 500. Hopefully I get that many laps.
Our lips touch and I almost faint again, but I steady myself on his chest. I lean into him, the salty taste of my tears mixing with the kiss. I smile into it and can feel my body relax into him.
I've never felt so at home.
