1997 was a very good year I turn a teenage that year and a little movie named Selena was release on March 21, 1997. Every time the commercial for the movie came I would stop what I would do to watch it. Then as the date of the movie drew near I would repeat every line from the trailer I really wanted to see this movie.
A week before on March 11 the soundtrack of the movie came out and my stepmother again bought a Selena CD. She was the Selena fan first. The soundtrack was amazing I knew I would love to have my own copy. When I did get the soundtrack it was on cassette and I got it at best buy.
This is also the year I got her CD Amor Prohibido (Forbidden Love) her last CD she completed while she was alive. The album came out three years earlier and I was so excited to have this CD. I heard this whole masterpiece on cassette because my stepmother had this album on cassette. That is how I got in fall in love with it. This album had many different sounds on it from Tejano to Rock En Español. It was a very diverse album she didn't just stick to one style which is probably why it'smy favorite Selena CD.
Now getting back to the movie I became obsessed with is movie after I saw it. When it was finally release my dad bought it on DVD and I couldn't get enough of it. I would watch it every chance I got. I know the whole movie by heart. Now I only watch the movie once a year but it's still a great movie to watch. One year I watch the movie nine time with in a year. After I did that I decided to only watch the movie once a year because watching it that many time is too much.
