Nathaniel's P.O.V:

'Chirp Chirp Chirp'

'Bleep Bleep Bleep'

'Can't mornings be quiet for once for a change?'

I lift my head up from my pillow as my red hair looks like a tornado ran through it before leaving everything to destroy the next neighboring city. Rubbing my eyes with my hands as a yawn releases. Another day of life. Shifting a bit out of my bed and the tips of my toes hitting the cool wood flooring of my bedroom. How pleasant. Looking over to the time of my alarm clock. Seeing it just waking me up at my usual time. Just to spare me the time of not being late when I walk to school. Which, is a pain, did I already say that about a hundred times?

Hurrying off to my closet to grab my clothes and also some new underwear. Then taking a turn out of my bedroom towards the bathroom. My mom cooking breakfast, as, usual most likely my dad is off to get an early start to work and avoid as much traffic as possible. But throwing those thoughts aside. I go into the bathroom and then take a nice warm shower, washing my hair in the running water as a stupid habit. Begin to hum a bit in the shower as the shampoo I apply into my clump of redness being rubbed again and again form bubbles in an instant.

"NATHANIEL! HONEY! ONCE YOUR DONE IN THEIR I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!"

"GOT IT MOM! I'LL BE OUT IN A FEW MINUTES!" I call back to my mom as then I finish myself off with some conditioner and body shampoo, washing that off shortly too with the water pouring all over me. Turning off the shower before a small gust of cool air hits me as I step out carefully and then dry myself off. Wrapping my hair in my towel as I slowly struggle a bit in dressing myself up as about a quarter of my body is still wet from my shower.

After JUST managing my socks on, I exit the bathroom as I have my towel spread on my shoulders to prevent the back of my orange shirt to look like I came back from a swim meet. Walking to the kitchen as I spot my plate of scrambled eggs and buttered toast sitting, just waiting for me. Seating myself at the dining table. My mom turned to me with her finger tips more nervously like fiddle her own red hair. As her glasses rest in place, occasionally slipping a tad out of place.

"N-Nathaniel, sweetie... you know how much I love you and how much I care on your happiness. But..."

"But?" I asked confused as I stuff some scrambled eggs into my mouth.

"I... can't be able to send you to the seasonal dance with your boyfriend." My mom explains as I feel like I'm choking on something. But of course, it's nothing. Staring to my mom as I sadly place my palm over my face.

"P-Please don't tell me..."

"I'm sorry Nathaniel honey, it's either you can't go at all or it's your dad that's gonna have to send you and your boyfriend." My mom explained more sadly as a more deepened feeling stabs me in the heart. A direct hit.

What am I going to do?! He would be completely proud and fine if I asked a girl to the seasonal dance. Notice, GIRL.  If he finds out that I'm in a relationship with Marc. I'll be forced to break up with him and boom. Everything I hoped for gone. Of course, Mother is just fine with me being with Marc. She completely is happy for the both of us.

Dad... he's just a completely different story, and definitely more difficult on things like this.

Damn, this just became a mess. I just slowly keep eating my breakfast as my mom then slowly proceeds to clean up the cooking area. Slightly poking my fork into my food. I can't risk my dad to know any of this.

"Listen, Nathaniel honey... why, don't you try to lay low on this once that dance of yours comes up? Like, try to act like friends? Know I can help you through this..."
