Chapter 4: Big Brother Jordan
Jordan’s POV
Slowly my eyes opened. I was moving, but I wasn’t. Something was moving me. Tiredly and tightly I turned my head to see I was lying on some stretcher thing. I remembered being heaven with Bethany and Cierra. Did we really just go to heaven? Of course we were. Looking around, the sky was grey with clouds and it seemed like whatever breeze was going on was picking up speed. It also seemed colder than a bit ago.
The people carrying me were coatless and huffing, trying to keep warm. They had worried looks on their face. I saw four people; two girls and two guys. I couldn’t tell if I was still partially unconscious or if I had fallen asleep, for not a muscle I could move. My body felt pretty limp. I couldn’t feel anything in my left leg. Frost bitten? I winced when I tried to move my other leg.
“Please don’t move until we get you to the house. You are very badly injured sir,” said the tall brown haired girl.
I could barely speak. My throat was tight and sore. I finally realized one thing. Where are Isaac, Bethany, and Cierra? Where are my little brother and sisters? Walking along side us were two horses. Someone was wrapped up and holding the reins of a horse. She had dark hair. Vahl? Boysee? Jordan, you’ve been playing too much Skyrim… nah! I started to worry about where Beth, Cierra, and Isaac were. “C-Cierra!”
The younger blonde girl chirped, “They are okay. See the horses? Your sisters are on them. I think Isaac is already at the house with my sister Thora.”
I sighed. They are safe. The clothes on my body made me feel frozen. I had been sweating from all the pain and didn’t realize it; was too worried about my siblings at the time. Above my head were angels singing hymns. I am safe. What now? What can someone who cannot move nor speak full sentences right now do anything? A voice in the white-grey sky called out, “Put your trust in The Father, Jordan.”
“I surrender all to my King,” I whispered. Tears lighted down my temples. We finally arrived at a nice house of red and white. Gosh I feel so exhausted from just thinking. It hurt to breath. My chest pounded inside. I felt so broken and torn up. I am not well. My coat folds hid my puffy eyes. The people lifted me up through the doors and quickly decided to move me to a bed to hopefully ease the pain. While moving I immediately came to a realization; did they know we would come? God, what did you reveal to them? There were six Bibles stacked neatly on a table. The older looking guy and girl took over and transferred me over to the room…oh.
“Isaac?” He was about to kiss a girl! He doesn’t even know her. Heh! I’ll pick on him later, since neither of us looks great. I think we startled them enough anyhow. The two laid me on the bed. Still unable to move, they removed my coat, pants, and shirt (that were soaked with snow and sweat). They left to dry my clothes, but the girl with Isaac stayed. She looked about Isaac’s age. She looked nice. The girl stood up and threw blankets over my bare feet. OH GOODNESS! She is still here. She can see my superman boxers!! Wait…can she?
“I’m Thora. Don’t worry I am visually disabled,” she smiled. She took my hand and warmed it in hers. Isaac slid over to the other side of the bed and held a hand on my wrist and another on my face. He bent over, with tears pouring, and put his forehead against mine. Isaac kissed my forehead. My dear little brother’s affection warmed my heart.
