Chapter 12: The Long Road Home

---Bethany's POV---

The next week was tough. Isaac caught a fever. He slept is Jordan's bed and Jordan slept with Cierra and I in the big bed. It went down in a few days, but it also added extra delay to our departure time. The blizzard had died down, but the plows had only just come. The road was clean, Jordan was healing very well, Isaac is healthy now, and all our sores are healed. Cierra will be driving us home when we leave.

To be quite frank, I don't think any of us wants to leave, but yet we do. We want to go home, I mean we really miss Mom and Dad, but this lace is amazing! I'm really going to miss little Hannah. She tried to draw my blizzard sketch. It wasn't bad....well, it was actually sloppy. But it was sweet what she was trying to do. How long has it been you ask? We got he early in February, and it's like, March 5th. The blizzard was rough. The Kellies lost a few cows and pigs, but most of the animals were still fine.

Will we ever see them again? I hope so. We've all found something here. Jordan has fallen for Jordanna, Isaac and Thora are enthralled with each other, and Cierra and I got to practice our drawing skills a bit. We all rode the horses and donkeys. The only thing left is the car... or a car if it isn't fixable.

Raymund came into the Kelly household and handed Cierra keys. Our keys! "Ma'am, yer car should be fit to go. I gave 'er a few test runs at my place and she's running smooth. You may now leave whenever you are ready." He tipped his hat, as usual.

"Thank you Ray! We couldn't thank you enough. Is there anything we can do for you?"

"Nah, don't bother. I'm good as I am. Don't need nuthin', don't want nuthin'. I'm just happy to help ya'll.

---Isaac's POV----

Why do we have to leave? I love It here. I really want to stay. I don't want to leave her. I really love Thora. Why leave when I feel at home? Right, I've got so much schoolwork and parents to catch up to. I'll still miss her.

After loading up the trunk, we say our goodbyes. I sit by Thora on the porch. She seems so sad. "Thora," I say softly.

"Yes, Isaac?" she seemed almost ready to cry, so I acted fast.

I leaned in and kissed her on the lips, catching her off guard. "I love you, Thora. I always will, even when I am gone. I promise to hold on. Do you? I won't fall for anyone else until we meet again."

"I love you too Isaac. How are we ever going to meet again?"

"I can get Cierra to drive us up in the summer. You could meet my mom and dad. They'd really like you."

"I'd like that."

Once more I kissed her lips. "guess it's goodbye for now?"

"Yea..."

"Don't worry Thora. I can call you every night, as much as possible."

"You will?"

"Mmhmm!" I will really miss her. I'm happy she can't see my tear. I'm strong. I can do this!

"Come on, Isaac. We've got to go."

I pulled Thora into a tight hug, "Goodbye, Thora. Thank you for everything!"

She smiled and kissed my cheek. "Goodbye Isaac Frye."

"Bye," I kissed her forehead and took off.

This is it. I get to go home to see my mom and dad that I have missed a lot. But still, I will miss this place too. I'll miss Thora especially. Goodbye Pennsylvania. Maybe we'll meet again someday. But for now this is our last day in this beautiful world. It's time to go home, where we truly belong. Make way Ohio and Youtube! Venturiantale is coming back for good!
