River was on the verge of breaking down and she had gotten Vito to call her husband because she knew if she was the one that called; he'd speed home and get himself hurt.
"Shh, Rosie. I'm sorry baby. It's okay, please stop crying," River said softly as she paced around the room and bounced her baby in her arms.
River could feel the lump in her throat burning and she didn't know if she could hold it back any longer. She just wanted her Hayze to come and hold her.
She felt weak for needing her husband to come and comfort her. She was the one acting like a baby instead of Rosie. She shouldn't have needed Hayze to take care of her. She should be taking care of Rosie.
Rosie wailed in her arms and all River could do was pull her in closer and kiss her little chubby cheeks. "I kn-know little baby. I know," she cooed as she tried to keep the tears out of her eyes.
As soon as Hayze stepped through into their bedroom, she burst into tears and Rosie cried louder; screaming unlike she ever had before.
Rosie wasn't a fussy baby at all. She was quiet and happy and a good baby overall; except for when she needed her regular baby needs and River couldn't provide that for her. Which killed River inside.
Hayze looked at the two with wide eyes before he jogged over and engulfed the two in a careful hug.
"What's wrong, pretty girl?"
"I'm s-such a bad mother," River sobbed. "I'm not making any milk for Rosie and she won't drink the formula. I don't know what to do."
"What do you mean your not making any milk?" Hayze asked softly as he caressed her cheek. He slowly took Rosie out of her arms and held his baby in one hand while he used the other to keep contact with River.
"I just-" she blushed and pointed to her chest as she sniffled. "Nothings coming out."
"Oh River," he sighed. "That doesn't make you a bad mother," he chuckled as he reached up under her shirt and started massaging one of her breasts.
She moaned quietly as his warm hands caressed her skin and then clapped her hands over her mouth when Rosie stopped crying and looked over at her curiously with her big blue icy eyes.
Hayze laughed and pulled his hand away to hold Rosie securely. "You don't mind when your mama makes such cute noises, do you Rosie?"
Rosie made bubbles with her mouth and looked as if she shook her head.
"No?" Hayze smiled as he lifted Rosie up so that they were eye to eye. "You don't mind?" He shook his head slowly and laughed when Rosie slowly started to copy him, bobbing her head around. "See River, she doesn't mind."
River giggled and pulled Rosie's little dress down over her diaper as she tiptoed up and ran her hand over Rosie's soft dark hair. She kissed the back of Rosie's little leg.
"Were you giving mama a hard time, Rosie?" Hayze asked her with a little smirk. Rosie's lips lifted into a crooked, toothless smirk and he threw his head back in estatic laughter. "You cheeky little girl," he cooed.
He lowered Rosie down in his arms and Rosie grasped onto his tie as she turned her head and placed her cheek on his chest, right over his heart. He chuckled and pat her back as she relaxed into him.
River admired the way he handled Rosie so well, though the thought that he made her stop crying so easily made her feel slightly incapable.
"Can you say sorry to your mama?" He asked as he kissed the top of Rosie's little head which was full of dark loose curls.
Rosie babbled something incoherent and he smiled brightly. "She means sorry," he said and River giggled, slightly flushing at how handsome her husbands smile was.
"Now, you were crying because you aren't making any milk right?" He asked as he stared right into her eyes with his lighter, icy blue eyes.
She nodded shyly and bit her lip.
"Have you been taking in enough calories?"
She shrugged and he nodded thoughtfully. "Looks like we're having a big dinner and dessert tonight then, so Rosie can have her dinner too."

River carefully stepped into the tub with Rosie in her arms and slowly sank down into the water, slowly introducing the water to Rosie.
Rosie squealed happily and flailed her arms around, splashing water up at River.
River giggled and wiped the water away from her face before shielding Rosie's eyes so she wouldn't get any water in her eyes and start crying.
"Are you a happy baby?" River cooed as she bounced Rosie on her thighs, the water rippling around them. Rosie squealed loudly and grasped onto each of River's french braids tightly so she wouldn't fall over.
After Rosie got tired of bouncing, River folded her legs and sat Rosie on her thigh before gently splashing water onto her. She ran her hands through Rosie's hair until it was all wet and then she kissed her cheek.
Rosie squirmed around on her lap and she quickly stabled her so she didn't go diving into the tub.
When Rosie's hand came flying towards her, she quickly caught it and shook her head. "Nooo," River said. "No hitting. Bad. Be nice."
Rosie slowly began shaking her head and River smiled happily. "Good job baby. You're so smart!"
Rosie shreiked happily and began bouncing in the water, splashing it around before she abruptly stopped and began to fall forward.
River caught her and steadied her, tucking her head into her shoulder. "Okay, its time to get out now."
