My life continued like this for a long time, about half a year. My parents started to worry about me and my health. I started to throw up everything I ate and it started to not to even bother me. My growling stomach eventually stopped roaring at me and food stopped looking good. I started to get thinner and thinner, but every time I looked in the mirror there was still that ugly girl staring back. I saw more and more fat the less I ate. I ran every morning and sometimes in the evening too. I wanted to be beautiful and skinny. I even stopped telling Jessalyn how I really felt. I would sometimes text her or she would text me and ask how I was doing. I lied and said I was doing fine. I did tell her about some of the bullying and things like that but not about how I thought I was ugly and worthless.
Then one day, everything went downhill
I was at school in choir class and we were getting ready for a choir festival the next week. I wasn't feeling very well all day but I just ignored it. Suddenly I just collapsed. Everyone rushed towards me and my choir teacher called the ambulance. I guess my body couldn't handle having any food or nutrients anymore. The ambulance came ten minutes later and I was still unconscious. The paramedics then took me in the ambulance to the hospital. The school called my parents and told them to go to the hospital.
After about half an hour at the hospital I finally woke up to tubes and monitors all around me. My mom was holding my hand and crying.
"Mom," I whispered.
"Oh sweetie! Your awake!" my mom said very happy.
"Why am I here?" I asked very confused.
"You're here because you collapsed at school. You were unconscious for almost an hour."
"Why? What?" I stumbled.
"Just rest Emery. The doctor will explain it all to you later, ok?" my mom replied with tears in her eyes.
I slowly drifted off to sleep still not sure why or what happened.
