Namjoon sat on the sofa, they were watching a movie, but he didn't know which one because he wasn't paying attention. Everyone was there, all piled up and around each other squeezing into the small sofa and around it. Jimin the furthest away from them rested his head on the cushion he had grabbed for himself.
It had been almost a week since Taehyung had told him of their love predicament. He had assured the younger that he would reflect and come up with an answer; but to wait until he was ready.
He had thought of bringing their little problem with the managers, but he had decided against it. When he had tentatively mentioned it to Sejin, well it was obvious that the staff knew. Heck even the fans knew! The shipping wars that went online was at times brutal.
Everyone knew of the ships, how could they not? It was in a way part of the culture of being an idol. Which to Namjoon, it only proved even further at the hypocrisy of their society.
"You're not even paying attention to the movie." Seokjin's hot whispered brushed his ear right next to him.
Namjoon looked at him, their faces quiet close, not that he was put off by that prospect. His handsome features at one point his envy. He knew that he did not have the standard Korean beauty. The only thing he had going for him was his height and his high IQ. His talent was what set him apart, but it was his passion and dedication that let him thrived. Yet when he felt the world was about to collapse around him; Jimin had always been there to catch him. Sure he had the rest of the members, but Jimin's tender demeanour was what really made him keep going. One step at a time. One day at a time. He would give away an eternity for a second to stare into the depths of Jimin's soul.
At the same time, it had been because of Yoongi that Namjoon had started seeing Jimin as something other than a dearest friend. Yoongi had a way of pouring his feelings into his lyrics, something he never could. With every line he would see Jimin's face. Yoongi composed music like a painter did with brushstrokes, and he would paint Jimin with every beat. He liked combining his lines to Jimin's voice. Most of their songs they sang before or after each other, like their own private duets.
He had lost count the amount of times he would find Jimin in the practice rooms singing his verses or perfecting his voice. So eventually he too started seeing Jimin like Yoongi saw Jimin. Eventually so did the world. Jimin was even named bias wrecker by their fans. In a way that was true, Jimin had wrecked his world.
"There's a lot on my mind." Namjoon whispered rubbing his eyes, but the look of both hopeful and disappointment in Seokjin's face did not go unnoticed by him.
"That's the point of watching a movie." Seokjin argued, worry in every word, even when there was a hint of hurt at the edge of his voice.
"I know." Namjoon groaned slightly.
This was the first day that he truly did not want to be the leader. He truly regretted his decision. Music, he could handle. Music industry, he could handle. Fans, he could handle. Media and government or anything else he could handle. But his fellow member's hearts were at stake and he felt inadequate.
"Joonie-hyung?" Jimin asked, his sweet voice snapping him from the abyss he didn't know he had been slipping into.
There-- just like that -- he was fine.
"Jimin." Namjoon said as the crazy idea that in his mind came back to him.
He knew what he had to do.
"Are you okay?" Seokjin asked by now someone had paused the movie.
All six members were looking at him. The movie forgotten, frozen, much like the members waiting for him to say something.
