Location: The Lab
Date: Monday December 10th, 2018
Time: 7:30amAs Detective Jack Johnson signed himself into the lab section of the building, the technician he was looking for came loping out, with shoulders hunched, and his head down.
Jack called out to him, "Hey there, Georgio! How are you today? How did you go with the testing?"
Georgio looked up, surprised out of his thoughts by Jack's voice, he stopped walking. His lips parted and his bushy eyebrows arched in surprise, "Hey.. Jack.. a bit early for you today isn't it?"
As Jack reached him, and offered his hand for a handshake, Georgio physically seemed to shrink in his presence, and his handshake was sweaty and weak.
"How odd" Jack thought to himself. "Last time, everything was fine, and we were friendly! I just don't understand!"
Then, with a light Italian accent, Georgio began to speak. "Testing on the bullet came back negative to any gun registered to anyone in Australia. We would need the actual gun to be logged into evidence to run a comparison on.
I can however tell you that the gun had a sparrow compressor (silencer) attached to it. It has left distinct markings on the bullet and bullet casing, which was left at the scene. The officer that guessed a Beretta 92 FS was spot on. That could possibly be a good place to start your foot search."
Jack thanked Georgio, grabbed a copy of the case file, and exited the building. With the receipt in his pocket, still in an evidence bag, Jack was driven, more than ever, to follow that trail.

Location: Sydney CBD
Date: Monday December 10th
Time: 10:00amSitting near the outskirts of the Sydney CBD, near Chinatown, Detective Jack Johnson was wearily eyeing the rush of pedestrians walking in herds with the changes in colour of the traffic lights. Little man goes green, the masses huddle over the road. Little man blinks red, everyone either hurries to get off the road, or, dashes last minute to make it across. "Although given that the summer weather was getting worse, day by day, why anyone would want to dash anywhere is completely beyond me!" Jack thinks to himself, while wiping droplets of sweat off his brow.
Little man goes solid red, and cars start to go where pedestrians were just moments ago.
Looking to his left, into the main road that would lead him to Sydney's CBD, the very store he was looking for, came into his line of vision. Without thinking, without looking at the 'little man' who electronically directs traffic, Jack stepped off the gutter to his left with his main goal in sight.
Hearing only a horn, and feeling a yank on his right arm, he was pulled off the road, and back onto the footpath. The impact of which caused Jack to lose his breath.
When he was finally able to catch his breath, he opened his blue eyes and found a stunning set of emerald eyes filled with concern, staring back at him.
Entranced with her eyes, he didn't even notice she was speaking to him at first.
By the time Jack realised he was being spoken to, she was already pulling out her phone to call '000'.
Jack slowly reached for her hand, and said "I'm ok. Sorry to have worried you. I really am ok. I was caught up in my train of thought, I didn't check the lights before crossing. Was that you who pulled me back from the road?" On that final question, he gave her hand a gentle squeeze to both reassure her, and thank her.
Jack looked up at this ... woman... nay... creature of perfection, her olive skin was surrounded by an almost halo of ash blonde hair, perfect teeth, a shy smile, those emerald eyes!
And at that moment, almost as if she could hear his thoughts, or feel the increase in his heartbeat, or his hands got sweaty? She withdrew her hand from his, almost like he burnt her (?) then from there, wouldn't meet Jacks eyes.
Jack cast his eyes around, noticed the growing crowd of people surrounding his laid out form, then, noticing her 6'1" frame decked out in black.
Jack blinked twice. No, not just black, black leather! Black leather pants, a slim, form fitting top, and a snug, black leather jacket! His lips must have naturally curved up to a smile, because within seconds of this stunning creature noticing his eyes looking down, and a smile on lips, her bitch switch was flipped!!
"You disgusting filthy fucking pervert! Less than 30 seconds after I save your life, and you're ogling my goods!! Pure filth!" And with that, this stunning creature with the emerald eyes stood up, and dusted her outfit down.
Jack, having blushed a tomato shade of red, sheepishly looked up at her, and once his eyes met hers, he was lost.
After 2 solid minutes had passed, the beauty seemingly shivered slightly, before, she stuck her hand out to Jack. "Hi! My name Leena, who are you?"
Jack (who was sore, hot, and feeling like a Grade-A jackass for being caught caught staring) slowly offered his hand, and with a slight blush, still on his cheeks, said "Hi. My name is Jack. Sorry, I didn't mean to stare. Your eyes... I almost got lost in them. Such a beautiful emerald colour. I've never seen anything like them before!" All the while, shaking her hand.
Leena's heart began to pound, as she looked over Jack's body, as she noticed the smoothed out callouses on his hands. She tilted her head slightly to look him in the eyes, deep, blue eyes, that she felt like she could drown in. Wanted to drown in!
"Stop thinking like this!" Leena thought to herself! "I've got things that need to happen today, and standing around, eyeballing this hottie from the Milan 'Runway' is not on the list!"
And with that, Leena said to Jack "Are you sure you're 100% alright? Not gonna dawdle back into traffic if I turn around and leave?"
Jack smiled and blushed, before saying "I'm certain Leena. Thank you! May I potentially grab your phone number? I'd love to grab a coffee or something with you one day... preferably soon?"
Leena, being the over-thinker that she was, ended up replying with, "How about you give me your number? I'm a tad busy for the next two weeks, but should free up after that? If your still free in two weeks!"
So, Jack stood, and withdrew his wallet from his back pocket of his slacks. "Here is my card. Call my mobile whenever you manage to find some time. It was lovely to have met you, Leena!"
And with that, Jack continued his way up the street to Myer.

ROSALINA'S POVRosalina walked away from that chance meeting with Jack, biting her fingernails. It was a terrible habit that her father Giuseppe, had tried to help her break many times over the years before he died. She flipped his card over and over again in her other hand.
"Detective Jack Johnson. What are the odds?" She thought to herself as she was walking away.
Luckily enough for her, no one knew what she had been thinking. No one knew, the depths of despair she had reached.
Asking her brother of all people for money, and having him treat her so condescendingly, simply infuriated her. Just thinking about it made her blood boil!
The plan in her mind, stretching further, and larger than she ever originally thought possible.
A small chuckle leapt out of her throat, and she crushed the business card in one hand, and stowed it away in her black leather jacket pocket.Brother dearest will pay the price, eventually.
But for now? Rosalina headed to catch up with some ladies in the shoe department of her old job. Having promised them she would swing past with coffee to say hello.
